It was a serene and picturesque morning as Lana and Adelmo slowly awakened from their peaceful slumber. The couple had not experienced their recurring dream together for almost three months now, and it seemed like a distant memory. Lana rose from the bed and made her way to the bathroom, where she noticed the journal that Adelmo had received from his grandfather resting on the countertop. Although her curiosity piqued, Lana respected Adelmo's privacy and decided against snooping through the journal without his permission. After finishing up in the bathroom, she stepped out and found Adelmo still lying in bed. With a mischievous smile, she playfully climbed on top of him, leaning in to give him a soft kiss on the lips.
Pulling away, she couldn't help but smile as she greeted him, "Morning, sleepy head."
Adelmo gazed into Lana's eyes, his own eyes twinkling with affection, and returned her smile.
"Morning, baby," he replied, his voice filled with warmth and love.
Lana got up from the bed, realizing that she needed to ensure Sierra, was awake and ready for school. Adelmo, still lying there, urged her to hurry back. As Lana left the room, Adelmo remained lying in bed, lost in his thoughts. He couldn't help but reflect on everything that had transpired in the past seven months, finding it hard to believe that it had all actually happened.
Memories flooded his mind as he lay there, contemplating the twists and turns his life had taken. From the unexpected encounters to the life-changing decisions, it had been a whirlwind of emotions and experiences. Adelmo marveled at how far he had come and how much he had grown as a person. The challenges he had faced had tested his resilience and determination, but he had emerged stronger than ever. As he lay there, he couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and support he had received from Lana, who had been his rock throughout it all. With a renewed sense of purpose, Adelmo knew that he was ready to face whatever the future held for him, knowing that he had the love of his life by his side.
As Lana makes her way to Sierra's room, she can't help but feel a sense of responsibility and care for her.
She gently knocks on the door, trying to wake Sierra up for school.
"Sierra, it's time to get up," Lana says, her voice filled with a mix of concern and urgency.
She opens the door and is taken aback to see that Sierra hasn't even made an attempt to get out of bed.
Approaching the bed, Lana taps Sierra's shoulder and repeats her plea, "Sierra, you need to get up."
Sierra rolls over and mumbles, her voice heavy with sleep, "Mom, let me sleep."
Lana's face contorts into a strange expression as she thinks to herself, "For nearly three months of living here, she has never called me that, but I sure like the sound of it."
Lana speaks again, gently nudging Sierra, "Sierra, wake up for school."
Sierra finally sits up and looks at Lana, a smile spreading across her face.
She says, "Oh hi Lana, for a second there I thought I was back home."
Lana smiles back and replies, "Yeah, I could tell, by you calling me mom."
Sierra's eyes widen in realization and she quickly apologizes, "Oh, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to."
Lana reassures her, "Don't worry about it, to be honest, I liked the sound of it."
Sierra gets up from bed and gives Lana a grateful hug, expressing her gratitude, "Thank you for everything."
Lana replies, her voice filled with warmth, "You are very welcome, but you don't have to say thank you so much. I know you are very grateful for me letting you stay here and much more."
Sierra's voice is filled with sincerity as she responds, "I know, I just can't let it go that easy.
You and Adelmo both helped me in my time of need and are still helping me. No one has ever done that before."
Lana's heart swells with compassion as she reassures Sierra, "It's okay, but for now, just get up and get ready for school."
Sierra nods in agreement, determined to show her appreciation through her actions.
She replies, "Alright, I will," and starts getting dressed, ready to face the day ahead.
Lana strolls back into her room, her eyes catching sight of Adelmo still lying in bed. With a mischievous grin, she swiftly makes her way towards the bed, pretending to pounce on top of him. Adelmo, caught off guard, attempts to wriggle out from under the covers, but his efforts prove futile.
In that moment, Adelmo realizes that Lana was merely teasing him. A smile spreads across his face as he speaks, his heart gradually calming down from the initial surprise.
"Oh wow, you really got me there," he admits, his voice laced with a hint of amusement.
Concerned, Lana asks, "Are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you."
Her voice is filled with genuine worry, her eyes searching his face for any signs of distress.
Adelmo reassures her, his voice tinged with a touch of nostalgia.
"Yeah, I'm alright. I was just lost in thoughts about everything we've been through in the past."
He takes a moment to collect his thoughts, reflecting on the challenges they have faced together.
Lana nods understandingly, acknowledging the weight of their shared experiences.
"Yeah, this year has been anything but ordinary. By the way, I've been meaning to ask, can I take a look at that journal in the restroom?"
Her curiosity piqued, she eagerly awaits his response, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.
Lana's eyes widened with anticipation as she awaited Adelmo's response. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, the weight of their shared experiences hanging in the air. Adelmo's smile grew wider as he looked at Lana, his eyes filled with love and adoration.
"Babe, of course you can," he replied, his voice filled with warmth.
"You don't need to ask. You're always welcome to explore every part of my life."
