Chapter 1: The Sexy Flirtatious Man At The Club
The Stargazers Club was a moderately sized building always filled with eccentric people within every corner of the room. But there was one thing everyone in this club had in common, and that was understanding all the best ways to have fun.
Strobe lights flashed back and forth, illuminating the crowds of people dancing below in various colors. The loud music emitting from the club bounced off the walls and stole any thoughts someone had; at that moment, the second the song playing crept up to their ears. Then again, clubs weren't meant to be places to have idle chit-chat, and someone's body movements to the songs playing were enough to speak for them.
"How did I find myself in this club? I wasn't so sure anymore," Lexi thought to herself. Lexi was a woman with beautiful silky straight blonde hair paired with a face that was fit for an angel.
Her senses were dulled by the strong odor of sweat mixed in with the lingering scent of alcohol as she continued to wander through the groups of people who were dancing close to one another. Every so often, she would feel her body shift to the left or right when someone had bumped into her, and she couldn't help but feel as if she was starting to suffocate in this place.
It was the second a waitress who was dressed skimpily had passed by Lexi with a glowing tray with shooters that suddenly spilled all over Lexi's black sleeveless dress that was tied around her neck when someone who was dancing nearby had bumped into the waitress, which had sent the waitress slightly forward that caused the glowing tray to lean forward to spill all of the shooters she had been carrying. Without as much as an apology, the waitress scurried off into the crowds of people, leaving Lexi to deal with the problem herself. With a loud sigh that was muffled by the music, she continued to push through the crowds of people, trying to salvage what was left of her already shitty day.
After what seemed like a never-ending sea of people, she leaned against the wall of the club and tilted her head back before she closed her eyes for a brief moment to enjoy what little peace this corner offered her. But, unfortunately, that peace was disturbed by the sound of soft moans. It was then that Lexi's eyes shot open in bewilderment as she looked to her left to see a couple with their tongues nearly down each other's throats while they were pressed closely to one another.
As soon as she saw another waitress pass by her, Lexi quickly grabbed two shooters and inhaled them without a second thought, as if trying to drown out the club and her thoughts, but a low, deep laugh soon grabbed her attention.
"Wow, someone can sure hold their alcohol, or are you just trying to drown out something, sweetheart?" A quite handsome guy with short blonde hair spoke with the most charming smile he could muster while the side of his face rested against his open palm, and his elbow rested against the wall.
"Was it really that obvious? I guess I do look disturbed after my boyfriend stood me up on our one-year anniversary, claiming that one of his close friends needed help. I spent months trying to get a reservation to that restaurant we went to on our first date." Lexi said, trying to seem calm, but her tone came out as sorrowful.
"Sounds to me like he doesn't care in the slightest. I mean, you put in all that effort into those reservations only for him to disregard it for some friend," the man spoke with a sly smile while his green eyes held a brief glimmer of amusement at her situation.
"I mean, his friend probably really just needed help, and we could just go to a different restaurant." She said, but it was clear in her eyes that she didn't believe her so-called boyfriend was helping a close friend.
"Oh? So you actually believe him with that? I have to say you are as beautiful as you are stupid," the man said, while a grin appeared on his lips, and his mere words caused Lexi to quickly turn her head to look at him.
"Are you making fun of me? Look, I didn't ask for your advice; I just came to this club to blow off some steam!" Lexi said with annoyance, lacing every word that left her mouth while her fiery blue eyes met amused green ones.
A soft chuckle left his lips before he leaned in close before he reached up with his left hand to caress her cheek, which caused her to blush instantly at his boldness. "Wow~ you're feisty too. You're the whole package, aren't you? Also, when did I say I was making fun of you?"
"You're just a straight-up flirt, aren't you?" Lexi said as she held his gaze as he looked down at her. But, she felt her gaze waver and her face get hotter when his thumb softly brushed along her lower lip.
"Now, that's where you're wrong. I'm only a flirt if it has an effect on someone, right?" he asked softly to her. The both of their faces were only a few inches apart from each other, and he was so close that it finally dawned on her that he was wearing vanilla cologne. But something drew her attention to the side of his neck that currently had a bright red lipstick mark before her eyes drifted back to his.
"If you think I'm interested in a one-night stand, I'm not, regardless of how smooth you are," she claimed, this time holding his gaze. Her comment drew a wide grin out of him since it seemed he had followed her gaze when she looked at his neck.
"Oh, that? I guess she was a lot more possessive than I originally thought," he stated with a small shrug of his shoulders while a smile still remained on his lips.
Lexi felt her right eyebrow slightly twitch, "So, you're interested in getting a one-night stand out of me?" she asked seriously, but her comment only seemed to draw a laugh out of him.
"Now, that depends on you. I got tired of being the one to chase, so I prefer the one to be chased after," he said with a flirtatious tone to his words while he gave her a playful wink.
"B-but...you..." Lexi said, stumbling over her words after what he just exclaimed. He couldn't be serious, but judging by the serious look in his eyes despite his playful tone, she could tell he was serious with what he had just claimed. But her heart started to pound against her chest when he placed his pointer finger against her lips to shush her.
"Shhh, now there isn't a reason for you to decide that now. I mean, we'll meet again, I'm sure of that. All you have to do is think of me, and then you'll find me," He said with a smile on his lips before he leaned up close to her left ear to whisper something.
"But, you and I both know that your boyfriend is trash and that you deserve someone better. The best thing to do is throw it away before the stench is too strong to get out of your room," He said before pulling away and moving away from her.
"Now, off I go to tend to something important, and do try your best not to overdrink yourself, okay," he said before he was about to disappear into the crowd, only to stop in his footsteps when he heard her voice that drew a grin out of him.
"But, wait, you didn't tell me your name!" Lexi said with a raised voice.
"Oh? The sweet lady wants to know my name. It's Jace, but I'm sure you won't forget it now, will you, Lexi?" he said with a grin before he disappeared into the crowd of people behind him.
"Wait, when did I...tell you my name..." Lexi said before placing a hand to her forehead when she felt a sudden pounding headache; maybe she did tell him her name, and those two shooters that she quickly consumed were playing tricks on her.
She quietly made her way through the crowds of people again. The music and the screams of people were quietly in the distance, and everything around her was moving at such a slow rate. But her vision started to become somewhat blurry, and everything seemed to speed up before someone bumped into her shoulder.
"I-I'm sorry I wasn't loo-looking where I was going," she slurred slightly, and for just a moment, she thought it was Jace, but when she focused her eyes on the person in front of her, she saw the face of a man who had blonde hair that stuck out of a black hoodie, whose icy blue eyes seemed to stand out from the darkness that the hoodie created over his face.
She couldn't help but think how beautiful his face was, but in that moment she felt the temperature of her body rising up, and without warning she vomited on the guy in front of her and just like that her vision blacked out to darkness.
