Day 1 of Summer Vacation. Summer, the time when you are not in school and you have plenty of time to goof off for the next two and half months, right? Unfortunately, that’s not how it’s going to be for our young protagonist. Everything in his life was fine, up until he bumps into two mysterious individuals wearing black coats.
“Ow! Sorry I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.” the boy said.
“Don’t worry, it is we who should be watching where we go.” One of the Cloaked Strangers said. The stranger then bent a knee and helped him up. The boy could barely see their faces but he didn’t mind at all.
“You two are passing by?” the boy asked.
“You could say that. Isn’t that a bit much for you to carry?” The Cloaked Stranger answered and asked.
“Nah. It’s perfectly normal for me.” The boy responded.
“Why don’t I help since I bumped into you?” The Cloaked Stranger asked.
“You sure we have the time to do so?” The other Cloaked Stranger asked.
“Don’t worry it’s only for a little bit. We’ll have plenty of time to head back.” Cloaked Stranger.
“Well if you insist alright then.” Said the boy.
The boy then handed one bag of groceries to each of the strangers and continued on his way home as they follow. The boy wondered why they’re wearing black coats in the middle of the summer. Isn’t it hot for them? And if not then how can they handle the heat at all? The question kept running back to him but he never asked because he didn’t want to sound so rude to them. After a few minutes of walking down the streets, they made it to the boy’s house. He takes out his keys and opens the door. He invites them and leaves the grocery bags on the dinner table.
“I really appreciate the help. Thank you.” Said the boy.
“No problem. By the way, I don’t believe I got your name.” said the Cloaked Stranger
“Oh, it’s Saul. Nice to meet um…”
“Sara. And nice to meet you too.” She said.
She then removed her hood as she revealed her face. She appears to be slightly older than Saul. She had pure white short hair with two hairpins on each side of her bangs. Her eyes were red like blood with slit pupils can pierce right through your soul. Saul was stunned by her beauty.
“And this is my friend Frey.” she said
“Yo.” He said. Frey then removed his hood to introduce himself.
He seemed a bit older than Saul or Sara. But he seems a bit more mature than they do. He looks like that pretty bad boy you would see at school dramas. Yet his features were sharper than Sara's. But like Sara, he also had red eyes and sharp slit pupils.
“Well since you’re here, why you guys join me for lunch?" Saul asked.
“Lunch? What did you have in mind?” Sara asked.
“Well with the groceries we bought I can make some pasta. Want some?” Saul asked.
“Sure thing.” Sara nodded.
“Why not. I am a bit hungry anyway.” Frey agreed.
“Great!” Saul yelled.
Saul started by filling a pot full of water and put some vegetable oil on the top. He let the pot boil a bit on the stove. Sara and Frey were getting out the ingredients from the bags. Saul instructed them what to do, Sara would chop and mix the vegetables while Frey prepared the side salad. After half an hour of cooking, lunch was served of Italian pasta with a side of salad and orange juice. The gang began to chow down while Sara was eating more of her plate faster than anyone else.
“Aahh~ that hit the spot. So, you live here on our own?” Sara asked while she pats her belly from being full.
“No, my sister’s home too. Just that our parents are mostly working during the day. So I do most of the cooking in the house while sis does some cleaning. Do you guys have a place to go?” Saul asked.
“You could say that. But we're still a bit far from home." Sara replied
“That far huh?” Saul asked.
“But as long as we get there it doesn’t really matter.” Frey said.
“But what about sleeping for the night?” Saul asked.
“We sleep in the trees. Long as we have some shelter home for the night. Then we’re good.” Sara said.
“Then how about staying for the night? Have some spare bedrooms upstairs.” Saul said.
“Are you sure? I mean we appreciate it but what about your folks?” Sara asked.
“I’ll ask them. Give me a sec.” Saul said. Saul then took out his cellphone and called his mother. He filled in the situation about Sara and Frey. After a few minutes of discussion with his mother, she agreed.
“Just make sure the beds are properly clean before you give them the rooms.” Saul’s mother said.
“Will do ma. Love you." He hangs up.
"Great news! She’s okay with it.” Saul said.
“Really?” Sara asked.
“Yup! Come on, I’ll show you to the rooms.” Saul said.
Saul then escorted them to the spare bedrooms upstairs. Frey got the room on the left of the stairs while Sara has the room down the hall next to his sister’s room. Saul then leaves them to rest up while he goes off and wash the dishes. Sara then removed her cloak to reveal her outfit. She wears a black gambeson coat and boots with velvet brigandine chest armor. She was about to relax on the bed until she smelled herself and she could self the BO from under her armor. She became a bit disgusted with it as she wanted to take a shower but she would not have any spare clothes to put on. However, Sara grinned with an idea. Sara then went into the bathroom and locked the door. She looked around in the bathroom and finds a stick of lipstick sitting on the side. She then drew a transfiguration circle on the mirror. She then bit the tip of her fingertip and pokes the circle. The mirror then started to glow.
“Andrea. Miyoko. You there?” she asks as the mirror continues to glow. The mirror’s glow faded then revealed two women on the other side of the mirror. One woman was a long white hair woman wearing a dark purple and pink kimono while the other was a blonde-haired woman wearing a scarlet red and purple wardrobe.
“Ello Sara. How did go with your mission?” Said one of the women on the other side of the mirror.
“Mission accomplish. Turns out I was right. The asshole was a runaway demon, but he won’t be bothering anyone anymore.” Sara said.
“Good. Hurry so we can get you and Frey back.” The other woman said.
“I can’t at the moment.” Sara said.
“What? Why?” They asked.
“I’m staying at a human’s house for a couple of nights.” Sara said.
“What? Are you insane? Then why are you calling us?” the blonde-haired woman asked.
“I need some clothes later tonight. So I need to get some right now.” Sara replied.
“Oh my for the love of- sometimes you really make my head spin Sara.” Said the blond-haired woman. Sara then climbs up the sink and enters the mirror. The mirror then glows an outline of her body as she enters. Meanwhile, Saul came back upstairs and knocked on the door.
“Hey, Sara you in there? Sara?” Saul asked. There was no answer. Saul then leans up and grabs the key of the bathroom on the door’s frame. He unlocks the door and sees that no one was there. He looked around and thought he heard her voice. Then he noticed that the mirror looked odd to him.
“The hell?!” he said while looking at the mirror.
He looked closer to the mirror and it was blank. It didn’t give off any reflection at all. He approaches the mirror with his hand as it becomes attached to it. Suddenly, his hand was sinking deeper into the mirror. Saul struggles to pull his hand out of the mirror but it was no use. He was being pulled deeper into the mirror until it swallowed him whole.
