Those blasted Nobles were going to pay!
Calloway was in a truly miserable state.
His city was taken over.
His adopted daughter was kidnapped.
And his Fiancé was going to marry another man!
When he got sent to this world it was fine, everything wasn't perfect but at least he was doing alright. It was those dark elves, why didn't he see it sooner? Some big giant Prophecy about the world ending by a wave of darkness and he was done in by dark elves and some pricks with big pockets.
His chains kept him suspended in the air completely immobile like some marionette. On the floor was a magic circle that restrained not only his mana but locked his spells and skills away. In front of him was a solid steel door three feet thick. Not that he could see it since it didn't let even a sliver of light in.
Screaming and calling names was his next best option, you know if it weren't for the muzzle. But who could blame them after everything he'd done. Truly he'd be disappointed if they'd made this easy on him.
He wasn't worried though.
The door opened to his cell, all Cal could do was smile as the crown prince of douche hats stormed in.
"What did you do!" The royal prick grabbed Cal's emaciated face. "This is supposed to be the unraidable city of Perils! Yet my men have been attacked relentlessly." He tore the muzzle off of Cal.
"What's wrong? Can't control a few Elementals?"
The prince slapped him. "We can't find a single elemental tied to the city's mana supply it's as if they all vanished overnight. Are you telling me Elementals are doing this?"
"Did you know that when you summon powerful Elementals there is a fifty-fifty chance of getting one that would rather fight than eat or sleep."
The prince slapped him again, "What non-sense are you spouting now?"
"And did you know that if you give an elemental their own power source, the violent ones no longer need to eat or sleep?"
"You! How many? A dozen! Two dozen!"
"Six hundred and sixty six." Cal grinned.
"You would unleash that many crazed elementals on your own city?"
"Nope, but I would unleash Six hundred and Sixty six demons on yours." Cal's eyes had the makings of madness in them. "Release me, beat me, kill me. There is nothing either of us can do about it now, they are out there free of their master and they want blood! WELCOME TO THE CITY OF PERILS GENTLEMEN! KEEP YOUR HANDS AND FEET INSIDE THE RIDE AT ALL TIMES, IT'S GOING TO BE A BUMPY RIDE!!! HAHAHAHA-ough!"
Cal's manic laughter was silenced by one of the guards punching him in the gut.
"I'm going to make you pay, first I'm going to marry your woman. Then I'm going to make you watch as we beat your guild within an inch of their lives before we burn them alive as an example. Mark my words Calloway Calphius, there is only room for one God in this world and it's going to be Me!" the prince punched Calloway in the face one last time for good measure.
The guards put the muzzle back on Calloway but his tireless smug grin would be a reoccurring image in the prince's nightmares for the nights to come.
They left him alone in the dark cell after accomplishing nothing.
"Soon Prince, I will have my revenge, nobody touches my family and gets away with it." Calloway watched as his mana bar jumped up to ten percent for half a sec before it dived back down to zero. "Soon, very soon."

Thunder woke her up from her dream.
The young girl didn't look any older than six and hadn't really matured past that point even though she was much older. It was her cursed half-blood mixture between elf and dryad that made her age slower than a human.
The small girl shivered as she looked a silver pendant that hung around her neck. It was her only possession in the world, a token in memory of her late father. She cradled it as she huddled under the dead tree that used to belong to her mother as the rain began to fall.
Her sobs were drowned out by the rain. Why did she only ever dream of scary things?
The world hated her, not just for her mixed blood, but her scary dreams too.
"Please don't hate me too, Mr. Calphius." The orphaned oracle prayed to a god that wasn't hers.
An elf legend who had disappeared hundreds of years ago.
A hero destined to return very soon.
A man fated to die tragically.
