Floating in space, Aspheion Two approaches Equis. On board the spacecraft,Krystal Knight and the remaining crew wake from their slumber. Krystal coughs up liquid violently as she falls upon exiting her cryochamber.
The trip before is still fresh in her mind. In a state of horror, she cringes. The echoing screams of the Alien and the victims it claimed remain as bloodstained memories.
Coughing once more, Krystal clears her lungs of what collected while asleep. She wipes her face with her hoof before pushing herself up.
"M-Mother!" Krystal screams through the empty room, her voice accompanied by an angry but fatigued expression on her face. "Could you please tell me if you are there, Mother?"
Overhead, she hears a robotic, emotionless voice speaking to her. "I'm here, Krystal, and I'm here to help you in any way I can. How can I help you?"
Krystal recalls the AI overhead as being the reason why Aspheion Two automatically returned home. Despite the fact that Aspheion Two is carrying a deadly organism aboard.
Krystal demands angrily as she slips into her outfit, "Yeah, skip the formalities. Tell me where we are, Mother."
After that question, silence lingers. Standing in the middle of the room, Krystal stares up at the ceiling, waiting for an answer that never comes. Turning around, she pushes her head against a nearby wall with an annoyed look in her eye.
As she mutters, she glances up into the center of the room again. Glaring right into the camera that is pointed at her from above, "Where. Are. We?"
Again, silence.
Krystal grunts, "So you're deaf now!"
Although she knows the risk is high, she knows the information about location is vital to her survival. Krystal decides to take action for herself.
As she approaches the exit door, she places a hoof on the locking panel and waits. The red lights on the door flash from red to yellow and finally green. The door is unlocked. She closes her eyes, scared by the possibility of the alien being nearby.
"I am fine as long as I don't draw attention to myself ... It is attracted to noise, so just stay quiet" Krystal reassures herself as she leaves behind the safety of the chambers.
Krystal continues forward keeping close to the wall of the hallway as she travels. This way she can quickly hide away through the doorways if danger drops down from the ventalation above.
Krystal's heart pounds loudly in her chest as she stealthily moves through the spacecraft's narrow hallways. The dim lighting creates eerie shadows that play tricks on her mind, making every creak and groan of the ship sound like the approach of the deadly creature. She tries to regulate her breathing, not only to stay quiet but also to calm her nerves.
In the distance, she spots the control room with its panoramic windows, allowing her to see the vast expanse of space and the planet Equis growing larger as Aspheion Two approaches. The sight of the beautiful blue and green planet brings a mix of relief and anxiety to Krystal. On the one hand, it means she's closer to potential safety, but on the other hand, it also means the Alien might have a better chance of escaping to the surface if it gets there.
Krystal forces herself to focus and finds her way to the control room. The glass doors slide open noiselessly as she approaches, and she enters the dimly lit room. The control panels hum with faint energy, and the stars outside twinkle with silent allure.
Krystal takes a seat in the control room of Aspheion Two, her eyes fixed on the communication console. With a deep breath, she initiated the transmission, sending out a distress call into the void of space.
"Attention, this is Krystal Knight from Aspheion Two. We've encountered a dangerous alien organism on board. It's already caused significant casualties, and we urgently need assistance and containment protocols," she spoke, trying to keep her voice steady despite the fear that gripped her heart.
Seconds felt like eternity as she waited for a response. Finally, a crackling voice broke through the static. "This is Weyland Yutani, responding to Aspheion Two. We've received your distress signal. Please provide additional information on the situation?"
"We have multiple injured crew members in cryosleep, and the organism is extremely dangerous. I've managed to stay safe for now but we need your expertise and resources to ensure it doesn't escape and wreak havoc," Krystal pleaded.
The communication with Weyland Yutani continued to be plagued by static and intermittent disruptions. The signal was weak, and Krystal grows with frustration, awaiting a response.
After what felt like an eternity, a clearer response came through, though still filled with interference. "We've established connection to your craft and have initiated auto docking procedures. Please remain calm"
Krystal's frustration boiled over as the communication continued to be plagued by disruptions. "No, no, please wait! We can't risk auto docking with that thing on board!" she pleaded desperately into the comm system.
She desperately tried to regain control of the ship's control panels, but her attempts were futile. The connection with Weyland Yutani was sporadic at best, and it seemed the interference was affecting not only their communication but also the ship's systems.
As the auto docking procedures initiated, Krystal and her crew could only watch helplessly as the ship began to align with the docking port of Weyland Yutani's vessel. Panic set in, knowing that the creature on board would be able to escape if they docked.
"Mother, override the auto docking procedures! Lockdown the ship!" Krystal commanded, hoping that something would happen.
But Mother remained unresponsive, her voice silent, and the control panels remained locked, denying Krystal access to the ship's systems.
She slams her hoof down onto the control panel creating a loud bang. This catching the attention of the creature. Her eyes widen as she hears the creature moving above. Her ship now fully docked with Valuntas Station, Krystal frantically tries to get it so they would undock. She pushes random buttons in a panic but nothing is working.
Krystal's heart pounded in her chest as the screens on the control panel flip to surveillance mode. She watches the creature through the surveillance camera. The creature was now dangerously close to freedom, and her ship's inability to undock only fueled her desperation.
"Mother!? We can't let that thing escape!" Krystal implored, her voice laced with fear and urgency.
"I'm sorry, Krystal. The docking bay controls have been overridden by an external system. I am unable to regain access," Mother replied, her emotionless voice conveying the grim reality of their situation. "This can't be happening" Krystal cries out
Tears of frustration and helplessness welled up in Krystal's eyes. She felt a crushing weight on her shoulders as she realized that she was the last line of defense against the Xenomorph's escape.
"What have we done ... Nopony on board knows what is about to happen!?" Krystal screams up to the ceiling at Mother. "Why are you letting this happen!?"
Mother responds, one last time.
"Weyland Yutani protocals are in affect. Welcome to Valuntas Station, Krystal Knight" Everyting turns black, the last sound Krystal hears from the alien is the clanking metal of the docking bay being ripped open as the creature escapes to be on board Valuntas Station.
