Fraise, me Trainee detective. The one everybody seems to not like. My co-workers give me dirty looks in the office and scoff when I walk by. I’m the only Trainee, they probably hate me because all of them have been here for years and they just see me as somebody that would get in their way.
But now they don’t scoff or give me dirty looks.
Only because….
I figure out my mother has been killed.
It’s our job of course to find out who killed my mother, they all apologize to me and say they are sorry for my loss. What they don’t know is that I hate my mother.
She had been the reason that our father had left me and my sister and never came back, because of her selfish ways. She’s the reason my sister ran away several times and left me to put up with her. She’s the reason she had been fired from her job several times for reasons I’d rather not say.
But anyway I still take the job, the job to find out who killed my mother.
I am awoken from a nap on my desk with a stack of papers that almost spills my coffee over.
“There you are ma’am the papers for the case.”
Says one of the head detectives.
“Thank you.” I say as I start flipping through the papers
I read through the portfolio.
Place of crime: 442 Pine Street.
Estimated Death Time: Around 9 or 10 PM
Clues: Blade through back, slightly ripped clothes, watch, and glasses.
I sigh. Not much to work with. I must start with going to the crime scene.
I make my way to my boss’s office.
“Please sir, let me go to the crime scene.”
My boss replys.
“Are you sure..I mean we barely have any clues we-”
“Listen I have more clues then most of you she’s my mother remember I would know.”
“If you suppose but take one of the head detectives with you you’ll need some help”
“Thank you sir.”
I walk out of my boss’s office ready to drive home.
I open the office building door and I am stunned for a second with the icey winter breeze. I wrap my arms around myself and turn on my car. It makes a small beeping sound. I open the door and hop in my car. Fastly I am warmed up by the heat of my car and i turn on the radio. I switch through at least 10 channels before i decide to turn the radio off because there is nothing good on. I put my hands around the wheel and turn on the engine and start driving. I drive slow as faster cars whip by me sending a cold wind through the open window. I am startled out of the silence of my car as i hear a beep from a text message I had got. I quickly glance down at my phone. Its my sister. “How could you, why would you do that?”
I assume it’s my sister getting mad at me, like always. The littlest thing you say could set her off, so I ignore her.
I soon arrive at my apartment I dash out of my car up the stairs and into my apartment building. I lock the door behind me and collapse on the couch. I look down at my wrist to see what time it is but it appears I have misplaced my watch.
“Ugh who cares”
I say out loud.
I slip into my PJ’s, brush my teeth, my hair and lay down on the couch and drift off into sleep.
