In the era of space colonization, Earth is nothing more than a distant memory. Mankind has conquered the cosmos and lives among the stars. But as history has told us, humans were been a race of peace. Over the course of galactic history, the Blue Sun Empire clashes with those it declares a threat, enacting a totalitarian regime in an attempt to rid the galaxy of space pirates. An unexpected journey begins when a group of bounty hunters steals something of value from a particular space pirate.
Space Pirate originally was an RPG Maker game I made waaay back in 2002. It was pretty awful, but the characters stuck with me all these years knowing I would use them again one day. In 2019, I started the manga as a means to improve as an artist. Before I knew it, I had over 200 pages. So, here's the ongoing result of that. Hope you enjoy the ride as much as I am!
*Reader note*: This is a manga series, it reads from right to left!
Year 7324 on the galactic calendar. With the destruction of Earth, the space colonization age has begun. Despite the significant loss of technology and progress, humans have risen as a space-faring civilization. The Blue Sun empire rules over the galaxy with an iron fist looking for any excuse to increase its military power. At the pinnacle of its hierarchy sits Lord Helios, a militant leader unafraid to use his authority to benefit himself socially and financially.
Blue Sun however has been presented with a unique, but convenient problem - the space pirate threat. A supernatural evolution of humans dating back several thousand years, who wield extraordinary power. Incredible strength, limitless stamina, and the ability to manipulate the elements are only some of their vast abilities. What better reason for a tyrannical empire to keep its military power?
Join Kaguyo Ryuutsugi, the son of the late Omega Pirate, as he dives head first into a conflict that will impact the very fabric of the universe's existence. The story begins in the skies above planet Gar, one of many monarchy-controlled worlds under Blue Sun's rule.
