Dagger Cain sat with his head down. His father stood over him, with a look of disappointment. Dagger sighed and looked up at his father. Rick Cain shook his head.
"Why?" His father asked. Why? Well Dagger didn't know why. It just happened. School was hard enough without people making fun of him. Sure who had red hair and emerald green eyes. Yes his hair was down to his shoulders and it made him look a little girly. But that didn't give other people the right to call him a fag. After all he was 6'4 and one of the most muscler guys in high school. He was also dating one of the most popular girls in his year. Didn't that show that he was manly enough?
"I don't know," Dagger replied.
"Like hell you do!" Rick shouted, "you broke three of the boys ribs! And shattered his spine! Your luck we're rich, because if we weren't you'd be in jail or worse." Dagger looked down at his shoes. Little splatters of blood covered the top. Damn, he thought, I'm gonna need a new pair. Stupid white shoes.
"He called me a day, he's lucky I didn't kill him," Dagger mumbled. Rick sighed.
"Dagger," the man said, walking over and sitting next to his son, "you need to stop this. Your gonna be 18 soon and I won't be hear to get you out of every little mess that happens." Dagger nodded. He reached up and pulled his hair out of its ponytail.
"I didn't mean to hurt him that bad... Its just I got so angry," Dagger sighed, "he deserved it." Dagger glanced at his father. Why couldn't he look more like him? Have black hair and brown eyes? Why did he have to look so much like his mother? A woman he had never met. A woman who had left him after birth. A woman who probably hated his very being, like very one else in the world. Rick put his arm around Daggers shoulders. They sat like that for a while. A buzz went off. Dagger watched as his father pulled out his phone.
"Cain," Rick said. Rick stood up. "On my way." Dagger watched his dad walk to the door.
"Bye dad," Dagger said. Rick turned and smiled at his son.
"Bye Dagger," he replied, before leaving the room. Dagger stood up and thrmed to the mirror. He looked horrible. His eyes were suken in, and his clothes were ragged. Dagger turned to see his father open the door again.
"Forgot my keys!" Rick said, reaching to the counter next to the door. "Oh one more thing. Your grounded."
"What!" Dagger yelped.
"Yep. We'll discuss your punishment later," Rick replied. Dagger glared at his father. "Love you son!"
"Love you too," Dagger mumbled. He liatened to his father walk away laughing. Grounded and a punishment to follow. Hopefully it wouldn't be like last time. Dagger glanced at the mirror again. The only good characteristic that he had gotten from his mom, would have to be his eyes. A beautiful emerald green, hat looked like they glowed in the dark.
