Every single person on this shiny side of the globe knows perfectly well who Laichter Lark is. Most likely, a considerable amount of people on the other side have already at least once heard of his name.
Laichter Lark grew up to believe that no other name sounded or looked better than his own, which prompted him to name his industry and first-born after him. No ‘Inc.’ or ‘Junior’ attached to either corporation or baby, for anything else that wasn’t Laichter Lark sounded inferior and was therefore an offence to denigrate such a perfect name. Laichter Lark always demanded to be addressed by his full name and insisted those around him extended the same treatment to his son. To be able to walk this Earth knowing he had produced something as extraordinary as another Laichter Lark meant his greatest pride and joy. Feeling he should stop at a perfect time, Laichter Lark made sure to never father anyone ever again.
The younger Laichter Lark learned considerably early in life that such a passion for his name wasn’t shared everywhere he went, much to his father’s chagrin. He didn’t seem to object when a nanny had started calling him Larkie, but one day they were laughing and playing hide-and-seek when the overexcited nanny’s scream of ‘I’ll find you, Larkie’ reached Laichter Lark’s ear and the poor nanny was never seen round the house again.
Young Laichter Lark attended a prestigious school in his neighbourhood, where all of his teachers and classmates were forced to call him by his full name. Laichter Lark’s large contributions to the school were far too important to miss over something so small and insignificant as a child’s own sense of self and the school board always saw to it with precise and sharp eyes.
Tragedy struck Laichter Lark shortly before his son’s twenty-second birthday and news outlets all over the world were quick to report, perhaps in far too much detail, the private jet crash that had taken Laichter Lark from this world when he still had that much to offer.
Thirty days after this fatidic event, Young Laichter Lark learned from solicitors he had never seen before that his right to run the industry he had inherited sooner than he would have ever had hoped would only be granted should he, like his father before him, use his full name and fathered, in no more than two years time, another Laichter Lark.
Young Laichter Lark, now just Laichter Lark for he’s the only one of his kind in the world as of recently, was rather used to his lifestyle and had a particular knack for running business. He wasn’t exactly fond of using his full name at all times, but considered it a small price to pay to continue allowing himself the life he led. There was only one issue that Laichter Lark didn’t know how to solve: how can you father a child when you’ve been secretly married for three years to another man?
