As I sat on the bed, staring blankly at the screen in front of me, a multitude of questions emerged in my mind. My thoughts were interrupted by a strange notification that appeared on the screen.
[Conditions fulfilled: You are now able to switch bodies With. S--] [Death of S--]
[ERROR: CLASSIFIED INFORMATION]
[Information simplified : You are now able to switch bodies]
"With Who?" I yelled. What good is this skill if i don't know any damn thing about it
[...]
DEATH! SOMEONE'S DEATH TRIGGERED THIS THING.
I was filled with confusion and disbelief.
I sat up, I noticed that my dark brown hair had turned completely white, and my skinny body had been replaced with perfectly fine muscles. But this new body wasn't mine, it was like that of my never-met twin brother, Shaun.
I had always lived in Shaun's shadow, and my parents had even restricted us from meeting each other. I was sent away to study in a different country, while he excelled at Prism Academy and became one of the geniuses in our world. But now, I had been given the power to switch between our bodies, and I couldn't help but wonder if his body had changed into mine as well.
Desperate for answers, I tapped on the smartwatch that was clinging to my left hand, but nothing unusual happened. I couldn't believe what was happening, but at the same time, I felt strangely calm. You see, I had always hated my life as Ray Hewitt, always living in the shadow of my successful twin brother. Even though I had an IQ at the level of a scientist, I was never given the chance to prove myself.
Buzz buzz
As I pondered over my strange situation, my watch vibrated suddenly. A text message from Eda Douglas, the one who's been taking care of me since my "banishment".
[Pack up. It's time to go home]
Well, at least this weird watch has my contacts in it. It's strange because there's no strap, just a display screen and a holographic keyboard that pops up when I need it.
[Is something happening back home?] I asked, wondering why they would suddenly summon me back.
[Something happened to your brother, so they need you back home] Eda replies.
Oh no. His body must have turned into mine. They must think that I did something. Even for this, they are suspecting me. "Hah… I'm your son for god's sake. Have some faith in me too. What if it's his doing?!" I contemplate, knowing that my brother has more than enough magic to pull off something like this.
As I set my foot outside the dorm, a nice gentle breeze passes by me. Eda is waiting outside the gate with a solemn expression, dressed in formal black like a guard on a mission. She opens the door to the BMV G4, and we drive away to the nearest portal.
As we pass through the portal in the car, I am amazed at how fast it is. All you need is a portal ID, and after check-in, you can reach your destination in less than three seconds.
Finally, the car reaches home, and in front of me is a magnificent villa. Even though I have been here so many times, I am breathless every time, thinking about how big it is. Villa's walls were built with transparent glass-type material, that can see inside out. There was a "T" shaped pool starting from the left side to the back, and between the "T" joints, there are square-type boxes to walk over through the pool.
As I approach the entrance door, a woman in her 20s greets me.
"You're finally here, brother," she says calmly, dressed in a long black blouse and matching pants.
"You look like him now," Zera remarks, her eyes betraying a hint of sadness. I embrace her, and we make our way inside, with Eda following us at a distance.
Impatient to know why I was summoned in the middle of the semester, I inquire, "So, what's going on?"
Zera hesitates for a moment before replying, "There has been an incident at Prism. Several students lost their lives, including Shaun."
Suddenly, my whole body becomes numb. Shaun is dead? I can't believe it. Was his death the reason behind my mysterious transformation?

In an undisclosed location in the mysterious land of Ziquei, 11 holographic figures are gathered around a table. The 12th seat remains empty, and the group begins to discuss the late Shaun Hewitt.
"Shaun Hewitt was a threat and a blessing at the same time. Now that he's dead we won't know which one he was," one member remarks.
"I say it's great that he's dead. Now that we won't have to care about a potential threat," another chimes in.
"Oi oi…what are you bastards saying. We are not here to talk about a mere student. We are here to talk about the security risks at Prim, and what should we be doing about it," a woman sitting next to the second member interrupts.
"And we don't have all day, so be a professional and shut that damn mouth," she adds sternly.
"And that mere student caused more headaches than the ones we were chasing after" another one adds.
But one member seems to have a different perspective. "These idiots don't know anything. You can't kill a twin soul that has been separated for so long," he mumbles to himself.
"He will now be complete," he adds, his obsidian black eyes gleaming in the light. As the meeting continues, it becomes clear that this group has a hidden agenda, and their true intentions are shrouded in mystery and darkness.
As I stared blankly at the screen in front of me, a notification appeared on it:
"Conditions met: Death of #@###@#. You are now able to switch between bodies. You need administrator authority to see more."
I was confused and had no idea what was happening. Suddenly, my body started to change. My dark brown hair turned completely white, my brown eye became bright blue, and my skinny body transformed into a muscular one. I realized that I looked like my twin brother, Shaun Hewitt, who I had never met before.
As I pondered over my strange situation, I couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead. Would I finally be able to break free from my brother's shadow and make a name for myself? Or would this ability lead me down a dangerous path? Only time would tell.
