I walked into the ancient ballroom slowly. My ball gown making my movements slower. The crystal chandelier shining off the gold details of my gown. There on a chair off to the side was the ghost. No one knows how she died or how she got here. But the only way to help her move on is to ask her to dance with you. You must recreate a complicated dance perfectly. If you don't you will simply fade into the afterlife like the spirit should have. Many of my family members have tried to complete the dance. But none have succeeded. When she isn't dancing the spirit sits in the same chair staring at the floor like a statue. I took a calming breath and approached her. I held out my hand, "May I have this dance?" The statue like ghost looked up slowly. Her dead gray eyes shining. She slipped her cold hand into mine, "You may." The dance began. We gracefully spun and dipped to the eerie music. My black dress mixing with her gray one. I moved to the music. Never breaking eye contact with her. And as the last note faded.......... she faded with it.
