We see Drew and Ariya lying on the grass with their heads meeting in the middle, looking up at the sky. “That constellation looks like a bird.” Drew points out, laughing. Ariya laughs as well as she sees a meteorite heading toward her town. “Drew!?” she says as the meteorite hits her village and she fades away. “Ariya!?” Drew yelled as he jumped up. “Ariya!?” He yells again as he runs to the cliff's edge and sees her town destroyed. “Ariya!!” He yells at the top of his lungs with tears falling.
two years prior….
We see Ariya wake up in her bedroom with water dripping onto her windowpane from the water drain. She is sitting at her desk, writing in her journal. “Why do we play this game?” She says as tears fall onto the page making the ink smear. “I hate this game.” She closes her book, gets up, grabs her schoolbag, and throws open the front door. Drew is standing there with flowers. “Im sorry, Ariya.” She runs to him and hugs him tight. “I hope you know my heart is yours.” He hugs her. “I do.” She says softly, crying. “How about we get that Ice cream that I owe you.” She nodded, and they clasped their hands and walked down the road. “Yeah, let's go get some Ice cream.” she giggles and wipes the tears away.
They both walked by an empty plot of land on their way to the ice cream shop. Ariya paused in her step and looked at it. “Could you imagine what it would be like to build our house one day?” Drew stopped walking and turned to her. “In the unknown?” He questioned. “I love that idea.” He hugs her. “Me too,” Ariya said back.
They continued walking, arrived at the ice cream shop, and got in line. “What would you like?” Drew looked at Ariya. “Mochi, of course! Im not sure what flavor, though..” They looked at the menu. “How about you surprise me!” She giggles. “Sure. Don't listen because then it won't be a surprise.” Ariya covered her ears with her hands and laughed.” Drew orders the mochi and taps her to tell her she can uncover her ears.
“I wonder what flavor you chose!” Ariya giggled as they waited for their food to arrive. “You’ll see!” The lady at the window calls Drew's name, and he walks over and gets their food. “Here ya go, Ariya.” He hands her two mango-flavored mochi. “My favorite!” She says as she jumps in excitement.
A year has passed, and it's now one year before the disaster struck.
