Sofia Kovalevskaya

This person is noticeable as both mathematician and writer. I respect her very much for being able to combine both and to have such a versatile personality. Also I respect her for doing science studies at a time when people had a strong prejudice against female scientists, and she overcame those prejudices!
I have known about her firstly from high math courses, but then I've read more about her and discovered her literature creative works as well.
My favorite novel of Sofia is the "Nihilist girl". It covers important and thrilling topics, and emotions and thoughts of characters were expressed very well and touched me.
I've used her most famous photo as a reference for the sketch.
