Welcome! This is the first page of Northland, my second comic. I wrote it a few years ago when I was going through a tough life transition, so elements of this story are very personal to me (with the exception of Vincent's sordid affairs, which are a stand in for actual events).
Northland explores themes of depression, isolation, community and redemption. Oh, and Vincent is a snappy, sarcastic, ball of stress.
Thanks for taking a look <3
i love the premise and who doesn't enjoy a good tale of redemption, plus i am not stranger to depression, isolation, community and redemption myself heh, so i can already tell this story will earn a special place in my heart, thanks for share such a personal work ^^
After a series of sordid affairs that earned him a distasteful reputation in the art world, Vincent Smart leaves the city on a whim and retreats to a tiny fishing village. Hoping to escape the rumours and prove to himself that he is an acclaimed artist in his own right.
While he intends to isolate himself where no one knows him or his work, the people of Port Martin have other plans, especially an enigmatic fisherman named Carl.
