"...and this one has a huge bathtub for--"
"This one." the girl interrupted the landlord, as she admire the bathtub she have been looking for. With sparking rose colored eyes, she turned to look at him straight in the eyes, smiling widely. "I want this one."
The landlord smiled and nodded. "I'll go back to my office and get this room's keys. Meanwhile, you can tour the apartment. Make yourself at home."
"I will!" the girl happily replied. She watched him walked away, heard the door closed and then turned around and admired the bathtub again. With a dreamy sigh, she touched the bathtub with satisfaction.
After searching for an apartment for the past 5 hours, this apartment had the one thing she wanted the most: bathroom's bathtub. After a long exhausting day, she always loved soaking her body with water. The sensation of water, almost like a soft caress gives her skin a sigh of fulfillment. Especially the pleasure of actually stretching your legs, and letting the water block the sound of the city life. The happiness the bathtub gives after each day's hardwork was special to her. Oddly because...she always feel like a fish out of water.
"I can't wait to soak myself with water. I hope I brought my bath bombs with me." She mumbled as she caressed the tub softly. She peeled her eyes away from the tub and looked around, mentally decorating the bathroom. The walls were painted beige; the sink could fit a couple of bottle shampoo, soaps and beauty products. She would love to put a fluffy bath mat.
"Definitely want to dry myself well, wouldn't want to slip and embarrass myself." she thought to herself.
Unless... I live alone.
She gaped in realization, looking over her shoulder, "I forgot to ask the landlord if I get to live all alone in this apartment." As she thought of running after the landlord for clarifications. She was too pre-occupied of the bathtub hunting that she forgot to ask the important details.
"Ohwell, I'll worry about it when it happens." She reassured herself, walking out the bathroom.
Giving the apartment another tour, she realized the apartment was huge for one person to live. The kitchen had a sink, stove and even a fridge. Though the apartment was rather lacking of furniture, the necessities were already prepared. As she walked pass the kitchen, she saw an empty fishbowl. She stiffen as she looked at it, as if her body remember what her mind forgot and with a gasp, she turned her heel and ran back to her suitcase and bags.
"Squishy!" She cried, as she quickly opened her bag and pulled out a bottle-like container filled with water and inside was an adorable swimming...moon jellyfish.
Sighing in relief, the corner of her lips curved up. "Good thing you're still alive. Well, you're apparently immortal, Squishy." she hugged the bottle in comfort, strolling back inside the apartment.
"You can't leave the mermaid princess alone in this scorching, populated land." she muttered to herself, leaning at the corner beside a windowsill, gazing at the nearby beach. She placed her hand on her neck, caressing the spot of her missing pearl necklace.
"I'll get it back, Squishy. Then, I'll go home." she whispered, as she blink away her almost falling tears. "I'll surely go home."
"But first..." She wiped away her tears as she heard the soft knocks of the door. She turned away from the beach and smiled as the door slowly opened.
"Here's the key for your room and apartment, Miss Melrina." the landlord said.
"Thank you very much." she gracefully bowed, still hugging the bottle.
I need to make sure no one knows my identity. One roommate will surely be easy to hide my identity.
But, as if the landlord can read her mind, his reply made the whole secret identity plan....challenging.
"Also, this apartment floor is available for 4 people. I hope you don't mind roommates."
"What?! Four?"
Squishy, it seems that this is gonna be a challenge.
