"Are you coming? I can't wait for you forever. These shoes are killing me."
"I am coming, I'm coming! Hold your horses."
"How I despise that expression. Do I look like I might have horses?!"
"Honestly, you look beautiful, like a night sky full of stars. Don't be so testy. It's just an expression. It doesn't have to imply anything else."
"I know, I know I am just a bit on edge. This dress might look magical, but it is so difficult to walk in, and my hair... Well, my hair is a whole different story. I have to walk very slowly and carefully, or it will be ruined."
"Remember what they say, no pain, no gain."
"That is so true. I have no idea how I will dance in this thing. The main purpose of this outfit is to look perfect, but all I can do in it, comfortably, is stand."
"And you do look perfect, the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Don't forget I will be by your side the whole time, and you can lean on me if you can't stand on your own."
"Thank you. You are the best friend a girl can wish for. Now hurry up, and help me climb aboard. I will never manage it on my own, not in this dress. It's too big."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming. I don't know why you are complaining. Isn't that the point of a ballroom dress?"
"Yes, it is. But, usually, you don't have to board ships while in them, you know. By the way, whose dumb idea was it to have the ball at the island castle. Why not some of the mainland castles?"
"It was your brother's idea, remember? He thought it would be a unique experience."
"That it is. Thanks."
"Are you okay? You seem grumpier than usual?"
"A lady is never 'grumpy', as you say. I am just a bit underwhelmed by this whole idea. I wanted to look perfect for this ball, and now the wind is destroying my perfectly styled hair, and... and nothing is perfect."
"You thought you would meet your Prince Charming tonight, didn't you?"
"Maybe."
"What if there is no Prince Charming? What if there are only frogs left? I mean, how is a guy supposed to compete with this image of a perfect man you have in your pretty little head?"
"I. Will. Find. Him."
"What if he was right in front of you?"
"I would know."
"Would you?"
"Hm, well,...I think I would know. There will be a sign. Something will tell me that he is the One. That he will always be by my side no matter what."
"What do you mean by that? To tell you that you are beautiful when you need to hear it? Should he be there to support you, even if it means letting you go? "
"I guess, all of those things...Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like you are trying to see into the depths of my soul."
"Maybe because I am. Jessica, I honestly don't understand you sometimes. You are this beautiful, intelligent young woman, but sometimes you can be so dense!"
"Excuse me? How dare you! I have always seen you as a brother, and you dare talk with me like that!"
"That's the bloody problem! Can't you see? I don't want you to see me as your brother!"
"You are making no sense! What DO you want?"
"I want you to stop looking for some non-existent perfection and see ME! Can't you truly see me? After all these years, are you still just scratching the surface of who I am? Can't you, please, for once, dig a little deeper?"
"What if I find something I don't want to find!? I am satisfied with being the charming young lady that every man dreams of having but knows she is out of his reach. Maybe I like being envied by all the girls. Envied my beautiful long hair, my stunning body. Have you ever thought of that?"
"Why are you so stubborn?! By the love of God, why can't you just accept that is not all you are. When will you stop pretending that you are this shallow but gorgeous woman everyone wants?"
"If that is not what I am, then please enlighten me. What am I? You tell me since I don't seem to know who I am!"
"You are a strong, intelligent woman who happens to be beautiful. I see you. I see everything there is about you. Sometimes I think I know you better than you know yourself. Why can't you see ME? Is it impossible for you to go beyond that artificial image of me as only your friend, your brother, that you have created?"
"What do you want me to tell you?! That I do see you. That I see you in the way that I was never able to see anyone else before. Do you want to hear that it scares me because I understand you more than I do me? Is that what you want to hear? That I try to see you as a friend, a family member so that I can stay away from you! Do you want to hear that I do all that to protect you? To keep all the superficial nonsense in my life from breaking you! From breaking the most precious person that I have ever known! Is that... Aah... What was that?"
"As far as I understand, that is what people call a kiss if I am not mistaken."
"Why would you do something as stupid as that? Now there is no going back. I don't know what to do anymore."
"How about you kiss me on this romantic moonlit boat. We can go from there."
"When you put it like that, I can't find a good reason not to kiss you."
"Who'd have thought that the beauty queen known as the Ice Princess could kiss so passionately? I can still feel the heat of your lips burning into my very soul."
"Oh, do shut up and kiss me!"
"As you wish, my princess."
"Mmm, you know, you are a much better kisser than I thought."
"Oh, so you did think about kissing me, haven't you?"
"The Ice Princess does need something to keep her warm at night."
"I can take care of that."
"No, you idiot. I was talking about warm emotions. Who is all about the surface and appearances now?"
"To be fair, we should try to find some balance. You know to make things even, of course."
"Of course, for our well-being and health."
"Yes, that's it. See, you can already read my mind."
"Could you please stop being ridiculous and help me out of this boat?"
"Yes, my love."
"Don't call me that."
"Yes, my mistress."
"That is even more inappropriate."
"How shall I call you then?"
"My name will suffice."
"As you wish."
"Oh, and Jeremy, you are my date tonight. So please do not embarrass me in front of the king and queen."
"I will do my best, but I make no promises. These parties can sometimes be truly boring, but I hope you can keep me entertained."
"Stop winking at me like that, and try to be serious. At least until we meet the Majesties."
"Very well."
"Oh, and don't you dare admire any other ladies. From now on, you are mine."
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
