"Never before had it rained as much as that early morning," thought little Luna. The earth was already mud and it was impossible to walk. In spite of the hour, small lamps were seen in the outskirts, they were numerous people moving.
Someone was knocking the door
“Luna, why are you delaying? Don’t you realize that we should get out of here as soon as possible?” On the other side there was a middle-aged man lost in his thoughts.
“I won’t go! I refuse to live the rest of my days locked up praying to someone invisible!” said a young woman as she moved through her room.
“Listen to me, daughter! This is an emergency, it will only be a few months until things calm down, but we must leave now,” said her father.
“I do not intend to remain locked while you throw yourself to the wolves!” shouted Luna.
“Daughter, please. Can’t you hear outside? They are close, it is time to leave. I don’t even want to think what could happen to a young prisoner. We fight for a fairer world, but at the same time we have to adapt to reality. I could not bear to lose you like your mother,” her mother, the situation must have been very desperate to mention an almost taboo subject.
“All right, I will go. But I'm sure that I'll run away from that convent as soon as I can,” said Luna.
“Otherwise, you won’t be my daughter. Accommodate your things it's time to leave,” said Aristo, her father.
Each time they heard closer the galloping of the horses they knew the final was approaching. Only one thing was true, they had to leave. Quickly she took a suitcase and put on some clothes, her father was disguised as a coachman, and she was inside the carriage.
The road was long, they were ascending more and more and the cold penetrated her bones, she must have brought more clothes, she soon fell asleep in the middle of her thoughts.
When she opened her eyes it was daylight and you could see what looked like a convent on the top of a mountain, with the polished stone walls and the gardens that adorned it. She got out of the car and approached her father, Mr. Aristo.
“Daughter, go with God, "Aristo said as he hugged her, then he drew a cross with his thumb on her forehead.
“Now I'm doomed?, ” the younger one said sarcastically.
“You are doomed to survive,” replied his father with a half-smile. He went to the mother superior and gave her a bag of coins.
"That day the sky was heavenly. I saw my father return to the carriage and whip the horses. Since then I do not know more about him, " Luna said to a young soldier who was at her side.
