And then, the big night had come. The moon was at its highest point in Fireflies Hills, illuminating every corner of that forest scene with rune-stone architectures. Its symbols lit up with the magic that existed in such a dark and wonderful place, allowing even the singing of nocturnal animals to be silenced by that blessed ritual’s magnificence.
With the arrival of such a remarkable moment, the conifer trees swayed noiselessly, and with the abrupt silence that reigned over the Sacred Soil, Nathroryos began yet another of its frequent tribal ceremonies.
There, at the highest point of the Theocracy’s rune-city, the Glass Tower welcomed yet another child into its cathedral.
Filled with mosaic windows in curious designs of purplish wings, the religious chamber housed countless citizens at that decisive opportunity. All remained standing and attentive to the arrival of the young man who was escorted by two priestesses from the cathedral.
No one took their eyes off the walk that the promising little archer was taking next to those hooded figures, since he had proven himself to be a holy warrior capable of slaying a Stone Bear completely alone.
His feat had been enough to capture the attention of High Priestess Urioth, and his name had soon reached the ears of all those present.
On that night, Wokor would become a man; a true moth-man with the honor of being marked by such an important formality for the Lunar Doctrine.
His grey skin glowed with so many night sparks that struck him at that moment, and his spiky violet hair radiated like a blazing flame among the shadows that witnessed it.
The young teenager - on the same day he turned sixteen - did not show any reaction in his pink eyes as he walked, even though the cathedral lights revealed the frightening magnitude of a place as big as that.
Even as a child, the moth-boy was not easily stunned since his eyes had been trained from a very young age to be precise so that his hunting would be successful.
In fact, his fluffy antennae didn't even show signs of nervousness at that moment, even if they were able to catch whispers from people in the audience.
Even though he had four flight members, he could not fly; no Nathrorian possessed this ability.
Having a pair of sturdy upper wings that folded from his back to cover his shoulders and chest, and another pair of thinner wings that reached down to his thighs (like every moth-man), Wokor's wings did not give him that tingling sensation when he faced that Stone Bear. This only assured him that he should not be afraid to finally become a man for his Theocracy.
No.
He was focused; focused on watching the little moth-girl who would welcome him at the end of that night walk full of mysteries.
The purple-winged moth-girl - known as Urioth - wore a symbolic cap over her long pink hair as she waited for her subject. Standing with open arms and perfectly upright, she greeted the offering with a smile on her face.
Nearing the highest Nathrorian authority, the priestesses paused their walk right next to Urioth, and Wokor was quickly told to turn away from the High Priestess.
With a cold gaze, he nodded in submission, then turned around and crossed his fists in front of his chest.
Now, he closed his eyes.
