I'm currently working on revamping my comic series, "Luna." After taking a break from the main story to create my short comic, "Luna's Hunger Pains" (which is available here on Tapas at https://tapas.io/series/Lunas-Hunger-Pains), I decided to approach my comic in a different way.
I originally wanted to have "Luna" be a graphic novel, but after several years of working on (and reworking) the project, I found myself getting stuck time and time again, hindered by my perfectionism. I wasn't a fan of my old art and kept changing my mind on how I wanted to create my comic.
In the end, I decided to break up the story into a series of short comics instead of doing one long graphic novel. I used a small piece of Luna's story for my short comic "Luna's Hunger Pains" as a test run. My hope is that this will allow me more flexibility creatively to grow and change as an artist as I learn new things about making comics along the way. It will also give me something more to show for my work, rather than never finishing a giant project for years.
Abandoned by her owner and pregnant with her first litter of puppies, Luna suddenly faces the harsh realities of life on the streets and having to find food and a safe place for her and her future pups. Alone and desperately hoping her owner will return for her, she comes across a couple other stray dogs named Buck and Bronte, but are they friends or foes?
This is the full story of Luna, the main character from my short comic "Luna's Hunger Pains," beginning with her first days as a stray.
