A figure walks into sight in the forest, their body only seen in the luminescent light of the moon. It feels as if they’ll creep up on anything that’ll let them, devouring anything available to their reach. You are frozen into place, paralyzed by your own fear. You won’t get away in time even if you make the decision to dart away from the nightmarish creature.
You need to escape, and fast. How could you even fight something like that? You’re only a young adult who mainly stayed away from athletics, not some big and bulky mercenary. Plus, how are you gonna fight with a sprained ankle and fractured wrist? Compared to that thing, you’d be considered a tiny, puny, insignificant ant. Your final option is to sit as still as possible and see if it’ll give up on searching and leave you be.
The disfigured creature is dragging its feet towards the direction of its prey, you. Your leg begins to stiffen seeing as the way you fell down the cliff to get away from the creature in the first place. You might’ve just trapped yourself entirely. No escape, no savior, no survival, only the sweet relief of death. You may only hide behind your useless cover(an oak wood tree) and wait for your utterly painful demise.
You, a young adult, have stumbled into a forest. Something otherworldly is behind you, preying on you deep into the night. Will you manage to escape, or will you die trying?
