Please note: This story is written from the point of view of both characters, there are a lot of switches back and forth and mingling of their thoughts/minds/emotions. There are also many memory and time hops as these chapters will be written in a train of thought style. This may be confusing for some readers.

I didn't expect this, this was supposed to be an easy kill. A simple meal. What's happening? Why does it suddenly hurt? Why are my own eyes suddenly looking down at me. The blood! My chest, it hurts! I...I can't take it! Stop hurting me! Stop hurting...us? STOP!!!
Harlee point of view (Point of view will be abbreviated POV from here forward)
The headache started between my eyes and I knew what was coming. I groaned.
"Uh, can you excuse me for a moment?" I asked the customer on the other side of the desk. They looked at me strangely, but nodded. I retreated to the break room and grabbed hold of the wall as the flashes started. "What the Hell are you doing Zeev?" I complained, rubbing my forehead. The room started to fade out and I was battling for my life, the Demon in front of me had scented the human soul I now possessed, well the half of it anyway. It was hungry and had started to evolve to its original Form since I would not yield. It couldn't understand why I wouldn't just give it up or devour it myself. If only... I sighed. They should know by now this was useless. The Demon swung a clawed hand at me, grazing my shoulder, the flesh tore there but it would mend. I felt my body react and scream, no-not this one- My face wrinkled in confusion and then understanding. 'Harlee! Harlee, let go now.' I told Harlee-me. My mind was torn in two again with a painful shriek and I found myself slumped against the wall on the ground, biting a knuckle, trying to stifle another scream. I flinched as my shoulder twinged again.
"Miss-are you ok back there?" The customer called.
"Uh yeah, I just thought I saw a spider." I gasped out. My heart was racing and I could suddenly feel the blood dripping from my finger. Damnit I keep forgetting.
'Ah sorry Harlee' Zeev's voice whispered through my mind 'just a little trouble here, they'll be dispatched soon' I could feel his chuckle more than hear it, almost as if it was reverberating in my own chest.
I looked at my hand dispassionately. The wound closed up in front of me within a few seconds. I shook the blood off in the sink provided for us in the back and rinsed away the rest. It had been like this ever since...
The noise from the dark... I never expected to be attacked in my own home! Did I leave a window open? How did they get in?
"So sorry," A deep, beautiful voice spoke. I could fall into that voice if it wasn't so terrifying to hear it inside my house. "But I'm starving and you just happened to be the closest one."
Then the darkness swarmed forward. I had thought it was shadows, but no-I saw it now.. What-what was that thing?! It-
"Miss?" The customer's voice floated from the front, snapping me out of the past. I sighed.
"Coming." I called and tidied up my appearance as best I could I checked the mirror and sighed. Well, at least there was no blood this time, I could do nothing about that however. I walked back out to the counter and smiled at the customer, apologizing as I finished processing their return. "Did you want that as a store credit?" I asked looking at them patiently. They blinked and took a step back.
"Weren't your eyes blue? They're this strange.." The customer stammered and I shook my light brown hair with a laugh.
"I'm sorry, it must be a shock. I lost a contact earlier, and it was giving me a headache, so went to the break room to get a new pair-unfortunately all I had left was this pair from Halloween in my purse." I laughed again. The customer blinked and relaxed a little, a small grin on their face.
"Well they are really cool. I'd rather have a refund I think." The customer said and I nodded, processing the transaction and giving them the usual spiel about the refund being credited back on their card, etc so they could be on their way. I sighed. I was lucky it was only the eye color change today. Sometimes... things got a little more extreme...
"Calm down, I'm done." Zeev said from behind me. I sighed and my whole body relaxed. I always felt tense when he wasn't around because, well... he held the other half of my soul.
