A long time ago..
The kingdom of Eviona lived in harmony and peace. Birds would sing in the northern woods. Horses would run free in the landscapes of Eviona. Fishes would dance in the southern seas. Eviona was truly magical in every way.
Five giant trees, known as Mother Trees, are spread around the kingdom that give the inhabitants of Eviona, magical powers. The inhabitants would work together to use their powers to help nature. Elves, inhabitants of Eviona, need to have a link with the mother tree of the area they live in if they want to be able to use their magical powers. Once an elf becomes 18th, a mother tree creates a link with them. However, the elves are not the only inhabitants of Eviona. Fairies live among them. They must make sure Eviona is in balance and protect the legacy of nature, life. Therefore, the fairies are far more gifted than the elves. Fairies create a link with Eviona’s Mother Trees the moment they are born. Just like the elves, fairies can only link with the mother tree of the area they are born in, unless they are born in the heart of Eviona around the Tree of Life, Eviona’s most beautiful mother tree in history. No elf, no fairy, has been able to create a link with the Tree of Life since Eira, Eviona’s Goddess.
Over the years, the inhabitants slowly became more on their own. The fairies all lived together as one in the centre of Eviona while the elves had grown into their own communities separated by the Mother Trees locations. This once undivided kingdom had now been divided in several regions with each region having its own elf community with their own rules and own leader. In the north, you find the Northwind Elf community. In the west, you find the Westwind Elf community who are close to Northwind. In the east, you find the Highland Elf Community and in the south, the High Moon Elf Community who had no intention of working together with one of the other elf communities or fairies.
Baldwin is one of the elves in Eviona. Actually, he is the future leader of The Northwind Elf community, Northwind Elves for short. Unfortunately, Baldwin never got his link with their region’s mother tree. It made him a bitter man. He believed the fairies had brought the links of the elves in danger. He had blamed the fairies for claiming too much power of Eviona’s Mother Trees. Baldwin wouldn’t rest until he had found a way to get a link with Northwinds Mother Tree, no matter what cost that would be.
He spent a lot of time finding and reading ancient script-rolls written in the fairy language to find out what's wrong with him. It took him awhile to figure out the fairy language but he managed to do so. He had learnt, whenever a fairy dies, their power, that energy, goes into Eviona’s Crystal Cave which is located under Eviona’s Tree of Life. He had never heard of this cave before. None of the elves had. In this cave, a giant crystal helds most of the energy for many and many years. The energy comes free when the Tree of Life channels that energy into a new link with a fairy. A link with the Tree of Life gives a fairy the powers of their fairy ancestors when Eviona needs them the most. Apparently, these fairy links were built up a lot more interesting than the elves had thought.
Shortly after he had read that part of the script-roll, Baldwin went to Eviona’s Tree of Life to find this unknown crystal cave. It had surprised him how the script-rolls were true. He didn’t hesitate a second longer and went inside the cave. There he saw it, a giant crystal in the centre of the cave surrounded by other crystals that held some of the fairy energy as well. Amazed by it, Baldwin touched the giant crystal. He could feel the fairy energy entering his body. He could feel the powers. It was that moment Baldwin knew what to do.
He had to kill all the fairies.
