Kita raised his hand in greeting. It was a soft and shy gesture, and Kita smirked internally when the beautiful girl at the bar blushed and looked down at her drink. Oh, she's mine tonight. He congratulated himself on a good hunt.
The men in this city thought they had to be masculine, a real "man's man." to gain the interest of the females around them, but Kita knew better. He had, after all, played this game for hundreds of years.
Yes, being masculine would garner attention. Quite a bit of it in fact, but there really was more than one way to gain a woman's eye. Women came in all shapes and sizes, and their appetites were also just as varied.
Some women needed a strong alpha male to grab them and dominate them. Other women preferred gentle, submissive men. Still others loved sweet and romantic or shy and tender or any number of other atributes. Kita had learned to be anything a woman might want in a man. In fact, he’d become so flawless at predicting what a woman wanted, that he could tell by a glance.
Kita had never been a large man. His features were delicate and beautiful. His eyes were arctic blue. The women would never know that his long flowing hair was white because of age (it was the only thing that showed a Kitsune's years). His skin was smooth and pale, his mouth was full and red, and his body looked young and lithe.
If he were to describe himself as anything other than the fox that he was, it would be as a peacock. His beauty caught the gaze and gave him enough time to pull a woman's interest his way, similar to the way the peacock’s fanned tail captured the gaze of a peahen. He embraced that, he celebrated it and used it to his advantage.
His current quarry was a lovely dark haired beauty with a soft disposition. The moment Kita laid eyes on the creature he could tell she would be scared away from a very dominant man. So he immediately gentled his demeanor. He made his movements languid and pulled out a sketchbook and pencil. She needed an artist. Someone to romance her softly. Someone who would tell her she was beautiful.
He would glance up at her and then back down at the paper he was drawing. He would make sure to catch her eye, but never too much. It would scare her away if she thought he was staring. The sketchbook was as much of a prop for his hunt as anything else he did, but he still enjoyed sketching the woman. She was very pleasing to the eye.
The woman in question spoke to the girl next to her before standing and slowly making her way to his table. Kita kept his expression soft as he smiled gently.
"May I sit here?" The woman asked breathlessly.
Kita nodded at the same time a deep voice called out, "He has a fiance."
