I sat on his bed, waiting… it would be any second now. I had been patient for the last week, and there was no way that my plan would go to waste. Patients was a rare thing in a person at the time, I suppose that goes for now too. Like a lion, I stalked my prey, waiting, watching, but unlike a lion I never missed my prey, I was much too clever for that. Lions are primal beings, unlike us. I remembered what you had learned much before, in the stone ages even!  Humans are agile, dexterous creatures, prey may be faster than you, but you waited, we were patient, and your prey got tired, slower, less life-like. And then not life-like at all, a corpse, food. But now, you have met your match. History often repeats itself, this was no exception. But we are not humans, although you have, no had a superiority complex doesn’t mean that we were not the better version of you. They never even knew we existed, that was until now. Unlike you puny humans we are cunning, clever, and unlike you we are not prone to empathy. Empathy is weakness, a blindspot. We are not blind we are not nearsighted, in fact we have 10/20 vision. Twice as good as your best , even that was pathetic. Not that you’d understand us, or our standards, and I don’t mean beach body standard. We are a fluid entity, much like a hive mind, we can share our thoughts and experiences, but we do have our own thoughts, a part of our mind is shared, so no one would run off all willy nilly, however we still unlike a hive mind have no weak spot, no one entity to destroy . We play tricks, we make people slowly go crazy, we are your sleep paralysis demon, we are the voice that calls your name, we are the horrifying being of your nightmare. We are better, faster, smarter, and stronger than you could ever hope to be. I am not perfect, but WE are. We like that I now have more patients than you, more guts, better decision making! Unlike the average human, we have no confidence issue, I am not here to flaunt our talents but rather to state the facts. You should have given up when you had the chance, but humans never know when to quit now do you? Nearly each and everyone of you when faced with death draw your weapons, even more of you run and hide. Let’s face it, I’m not here to restore your faith in humanity, I simply am here to explain why this world really exists, why you are even dumber and more primal creatures than last time. Your purpose, to give in to those that deserve what you have, this section of the universe. Nothing on its own is perfect, we are simply here to… help. Our goal? To take what is rightfully ours, the universe no, the multiverse. And destroy what is imperfect and start anew.  Which is everything and everyone but us. You by now can do nothing about this of course, as it has already begun. I will get back to my job now, consider this a warning. Give up well you still can! I watch the door, slowly melding into the bed. Quite literally, I slowly turned into a pillow, a good disguise, if not quite painful when someone leans on me. The door opens, and he spills in. It is time to begin.
