Flynt although an introvert is a very eccentric person. He's prone to dancing to his own tune and having playful banter with his familiar: Ignatius. He is a very sensitive soul and wears his heart on his sleeve for everyone to see, he will always be willing to help another in need which at times can make him a people pleaser. He has anxiety so he gets immensely insecure about not being able to provide for others, he is very self-sufficient in providing for himself. He loves to read, bake, hike, and work with his hands. He is an insomniac (often due to his tendency to ruminate for hours on end) and has accepted his fate of having dark circles under his eyes.
General Info
Name: Briar
Creation: She has claimed the season of fall since her early days are a blur for both Flynt and herself.
Species: Grotesque (This is a subcategory for gargoyles, but I can lore dump later)
Height: 6'7"
Orientation: Demigirl (she does not know this word yet, but she feels a connection to femininity. Briar is socialized as a female and is generally treated as a woman. She does not experience dysphoria from this as she does partially feel akin to a woman, but she also feels like there is something else to her identity and lacks the words to express this early on). Alloromantic and allosexual.
Personality
Briar is very dedicated to Flynt, as the one who created her she has a special bond with him in terms of connection (this is not romantic btw). She is essentially created to look out for his wellbeing and safety, but they act more like friends in her downtime. Briar is a very warm-hearted person and holds Flynt and even Ignatius dear. She is very inquisitive by nature and has a very honest way of speaking since she is newer to the world and she is always hungry for knowledge. She doesn't require food to survive, but she enjoys baked goods, naps, stargazing, and reading. Some of her general abilities include night vision as her kind are nocturnal, she has a set of demon wings that make her capable of flight, and the ability to take a dormant state that makes her appear as an inanimate statue (this state can also be a fault as it can be involuntarily triggered by direct sunlight).
General Info
Name: Ignatius
Species: A familiar that assumes the state of a red-shouldered hawk
Height: About 2'0" in length, he has a wingspan of 4'0", and he is about 2 lbs of sass
Orientation: Male, aroace
Personality
Where Briar is the sugar, Ignatius would be the spice. Since he has been a familiar many times over for other warlocks so he can be callous at times from his jaded perspective. He is very logical and level-headed in a crisis, balancing out Flynt's more emotional tendencies. Although he has a tough exterior, he is protective of his master and is a reliable source of knowledge on various types of summonings and other magics. He is often scouting the perimeter of the forest as the extended lookout and shares a telepathic link with Flynt, he may be a cynic at times, but he does trust Flynt's abilities and acts more professionally with him than Briar by choice.
A warlock with little desire for confrontation or drawing in any unwanted attention tries to find peace in his secluded treehouse, but we can't have that, can we? This story starts with our anxious warlock residing in the forest with his pessimistic familiar and his kind grotesque bodyguard. An undesirable encounter will only be the start of a much bigger conflict. (On hiatus, I want to refine this story before I regularly update it. Plus, I have come to realize it shouldn't be my first serious series since it is so dear to my heart and I still have so much to learn about being a content creator, writing, etc. I want to change a lot about it and I want to officially have my focus elsewhere since it nags at me when I update my other series. I have many chapters of this done, but my writing has changed so much through each one and I want it to be consistent, I want it to be clear, and I want it to be something I am proud of. This series will happen when I am ready, but my other ideas will be coming first)
