Call me Zoey.
I had been waiting in this line for hours at the game store to try and get my hands on the newest and the best VR headset. Most people had come in line to get their hands on it because of a treasure hunt. The creator developed the treasure hunt three years ago for the developers to figure out. They still hadn't been able to figure it out. So they just decided to release it to the public… Fast forward to two years later, and it has yet to be figured out–
“I begin to love being in this virtual world. You can be anything and be wherever you want, whenever! What could be better than that!” She says as she jumps down from a ledge to the ground below and looks up at the scoreboard, “The scoreboard for the hunt is still bare since they released this virtual world. People have been trying to find the keys but failed to.” She walks to the lobby and into a portal where we see her appear on a boat with a male and female on it. ‘I have made two friends here; the game does not let you say your name, so we don't know each other’s real names, but we can refer to each other by our usernames. Their usernames are Zayana and Laith, whereas my username is Wren. Zayana spends most of her time in the Raid and Voyage, one of the most complex games in the metaverse. You are essentially a pirate who fights and pillages stuff, but if you lose, you lose all the stuff you have earned. It isn't very easy. Laith usually plays games like The Dataverse and Dataside, which are more of fight-to-the-code games,’ She walks up to the top deck.
“Hey, Wren!” Zayana and Laith yelled over to her. Zayana is up steering the ship, whereas Laith is taking care of the ship's sails. “Where are we headed?” she says as she walks into the captain's quarters and looks at the map. “We found this weird puzzle on an island covered in moss; it's formed into some cipher. We don't know what it is. This isn't a part of this game, making this even stranger.” She says as she sails the boat out of harm's way and enters the quarters. They both look down at the mysterious scrambled-up words. “Perhaps it's part of the puzzle that hasn't been solved?” looking up at Wren. “There’s some good chance that it is!” She rolls the paper up and puts it into the backpack menu. “I'll put it in here for safekeeping until we figure it out because we don't need anybody to find it… Want to head to our hideout?” she closes the backpack window and looks at Zayana. “Sure! We are going to the hideout Laith!’’ They yelled before pressing the exit game button. They appeared in the lobby and walked towards the portal. Zayana was thinking about the whole puzzle when she bumped into a person in a crowd. “Oops. Sorry!” She says as she runs to catch up to Wren. “What’s up with this crowd of people?” She is perplexed. “I don't know. It's around the leaderboard….” They all look up, and the number one spot says, Wren. “... Guys, it says 10 points to Wren,” Laith said as people started running at them. “Wren over here!!! Tell us, how did you find the clue?”The person holds up a microphone to Wren. “No, over here!!! Tell us, will you give all the prize money to the metaverse or keep it yourself?”
“Guys, get away from her! It's just a stupid clue; now leave it.” Laith is starting to get mad and is trying to push all the reporters away from Wren. “Yeah, it's just a clue, nothing too special.” Zayana also tries to help Laith move all the reporters away from Wren. “What does the clue say?” A reporter holds a microphone past Zayana to Wren. She hesitates as a male grabs Wren's wrist and pulls her out of the situation. “Now you need to run.” He and Wren start running away from the people into a barrier room. “Who are you!?” Wren shoves him. “Oh please, I just got you out of that situation.” He took his mask off. “Ryziul!?” he opens the backpack bar and puts his mask in it. “Yeah? Guess you do know me.” He chuckles. “Of course I do. Who wouldn't? You are the highest-ranking player in the metaverse!”
