I love anime (My Hero Academia, Fullmetal Alchemist, Whisper of the Heart & the Wind Rises) and the shows inspired by them (Avatar: the Last Airbender & Steven Universe, Voltron: Legendary Defender, etc.).
I also love writing complex characters who can really drive a story--people you can laugh with (or at :P), cry with, and root for from the depth of your heart.
As much as I love fantasy and exploring all the different possibilities imagination has to offer, I also want my stories to be grounded in the real forces that shape our world, and the real, human experiences people have. While fantasy can be a necessary escape from the harshness of the real world, it can be also something that helps us navigate complex issues, see ourselves and our world more clearly, inspire us to keep fighting our uphill battles, remind us of something profound that we had long forgotten, or even move us to embrace something we never thought we could.
And finally, I love Jesus. I totally understand how that can be off-putting. A lot of people throw God around to justify things that are way more selfish than spiritual. But when I say I love Jesus, I mean I am trying to center my life around his teachings and commands, essentially: love God with everything you are, and love the people around as you would like to be loved (Luke 10:27). This idea--loving God by loving others--is something that's at the core of most of my stories, so if you're interested, you will definitely see them again. :)
Either way, I'm just a guy who loves stories and how much they can mean to so many different people. My goal as a storyteller is to simply tell the best stories I can, and hope they positively impact other people as much as the above shows and stories have done for me. :)
