After my two week "vacation", things were not letting up for me; my van's repair cost was at least ten times more than I thought it would be, work was getting hectic, the kids went off on another mission, and I was getting phone calls from my mother that were somewhat nasty. I have no idea why my relationship with my mother was going sour, but now I'm thinking she really hates me and probably has for some time.
When I got home from working on a Saturday, I was greeted by a woman I had never seen before at my front door. I didn't want to run into her, so I went in the back door. When I walked in the kitchen, Ciran was grabbing a snack. He stopped what he was doing and just stared at me in shock.
"It's okay, you can have a snack." I said.
"Uh..." Ciran said, "Why are you coming in the back door, Mr. Towers?" I frowned.
"There's some lady at the front door and I don't want to see her." I said.
"You had a girlfriend?" Ciran asked.
"No." I said, "I don't know her, but I don't like the looks of her."
"Oh..." Ciran said, "Okay." Ciran grabbed some cheese and an orange.
"Ciran, have you seen-" Tiyani asked as he walked into the room, "Oh, Mr. Towers, what are you doing here?"
"Nothing." I muttered as I left the room. I quickly went into my room and changed into something more comfortable. I heard a knock as I walked into the hallway. I ran into Nyder, who looked very upset.
"Mr. Towers, can you please get the door?" Nyder asked, "We don't know who it is and they've been knocking for forever." I sighed, I guess I had to answer it. I took a big breath and opened the door.
"Yes, what is it?" I asked. The lady adjusted her glasses.
"Are you Mr. Igiloram Towers?" the lady asked.
"Yes." I said.
"My name is Eldwood Cloud." the lady said, "I wish to help you."
"I'm glad that you want to help, but I'm fine." I said.
"Taking care of ten children must be really hard." Eldwood, I think, said, "I really want to help and I could help with cleaning and bringing more money into the household." I frowned.
"There are fifteen of them." I said.
"All the more reason for me to work with you." Eldwood said.
"I can't pay you." I said.
"I'm not asking to be paid by you." Eldwood said.
"Where would you stay?" I asked.
"I could move in here, right?" Eldwood asked.
"I really don't want to take you in." I said.
"But you'll need another adult if you have to go somewhere." Eldwood said as she adjusted her glasses again, "And besides, this place isn't a money maker, and I have a job that pays fairly well, which would help with the bills and such." I sighed.
"Okay..." I said, "I give up, you can move in tomorrow." Eldwood smiled.
