I screamed in anger as I walked in my house. He just had to die, leaving me half blind and helpless.
'I am sorry but Dr. McClain has died of a heart attack. Your check up and second surgery will be postponed until we find another surgeon. I am again sorry.'
Just remembering it made me feel like the end of the world was coming. It made me mad, sad, and wishing that I said something better than just a see you next week sentence. I don't want another surgeon.
"Angel please calm down. It's supposed to be a happy day for you." Erica pleaded. It didn't help.
"Well it's not Erica." I snapped, immediately feeling bad about it. "My favorite doctor died because of me Eri. The last thing I said to him was 'see you next week.' That's not something someone remembers you as." I sighed and walked up the stairs, to my mother's room that I've walked to so many times. I knocked and a piece of paper fell off. "Eri! Can you come here for a second."
"What?" She asked as she came up and I pushed the paper in her hands. "You want me to read it?" Erica asked me and I quickly nodded at her. "It says 'Angel if you survived the surgery I want to let you know that I'll be out of town for a couple days due to business. Erica I know that you're reading this so help him learn to read and figure out the town. I love you both, Mom.' Hm... Teaching you to read huh. It'll be interesting.
"Hope so." I smiled lightly and walked into my mom's room, engulfed by her butterscotch smell, and flopped on her bed.
"Get up Angie, gotta learn something new today." Erica pushed me off the bed and on the floor.
"Stop pushing me!" I screeched as I fell.
