Frisk checked her dress for the tenth time. By now she knew it was fine, but she wanted to be sure.
It was a simple dress, as she didnt want to overshadow Toriel, at this point every rease was perfect, but still she stood in front of the mirror.
Frisk knew she shouldn’t be this nervous. After all, at was Toriel getting married, not her. But something about the fact that the person she regarded as a mother was getting married, set the butterflies going in her stomach.
Something was going to happen, of that she was sure.
“Frisk! If we want to reach the center of town before midnight we need to leave!”
Frisk sighed. Asriel sounded slightly impatient. Her time was up. Before she left the room she grabbed a necklace with a small red stone hanging off it, a gift from Sans when they first came to the surface.
“Frisk!”
“Coming!” Frisk yelled as she pulled the door to her room shut. She ran down the stairs, stringing her necklace on as she went. Asriel nodded when he saw her,
“You look nice.” He said simply.
Asriel himself was dressed in a simple tux, his small bowtie loose around his throat, CHara stood next to him, with a dress almost identical to Frisk’s Both of them had similar stones to Frisk’s around their necks, Asriel's a deep green, and Chara’s a deep blue.
“We gonna stand around here all night or are we going to get to the wedding?” Chara asked, grinning.
Asriel opened the front door.
“After you.”
Chara stepped out the door, before glancing back inside as she went.
“Are you two coming or not?”
They walked through the town, past numerous empty houses. The entire town had been invited to the wedding, and from the looks of it most of them had showed up. The center of town was crowded with chairs, and the gazebo set in the center of town was set for the wedding. Sans stood waiting, his tux without a crease in sight. He seemed the most aware and awake anyone had seen him in weeks.
As they claimed their seats at the front, Sans gave them a small nod, before the music started to play. Everyone swiveled in their seats. Toriel was standing at the end of the lane, her custom fitted dress flowing around her. As the music played, she seemed to float to the gazebo, where the ceremony began.
Looking back on it, the ceremony itself seemed very short. Maybe it was, or maybe what happened afterwards just overshadowed it. Either way, before Frisk knew it Sans was told he could kiss the bride.
And kiss her he did. As they broke apart, he gave a small grin.
And then a loud CRACK! Filled the air.
