After literally having nothing for the longest time, I felt weird waking up in a bed that I owned. Sure, I had only moved into the apartment with Dan a few days ago, but it's still weird. I rubbed my eyes and climbed out of bed. My world was literally turned upside down and now I'm trying to act like nothing happened.
I don't have work today, so I went to look for something to do. I ended up at the park near my mom's apartment and I ran into her and her boyfriend. I noticed them before they noticed me and I was just about to hide, before my mom's boyfriend tapped my shoulder. I turned to look at them.
"You're that girl that said she was Millie's daughter, right?" the middle-aged man asked. I looked away and tried to walk away.
"No, don't go." my mom said, "I don't hate you. I just want to see how you're doing." I frowned, but looked at them again.
"Why?" I asked.
"We can worry about you..." my mom said.
"Why?" I asked again, starting to cry, "I'm just a stranger to you."
"But-" my mom started, but I cut her off.
"A month." I shouted.
"What?" my mom's boyfriend asked.
"I slept at the park for a month." I said, "While waiting for you to let me in. A whole entire month."- The two of them looked at me with shock written all over their faces,- "I worked my butt off to get to the point where I could actually live, instead of just surviving. I found a new job, a new home, a new life. And I'm sorry that I'm not from here and that you aren't my mother. I'm sorry that I can't go back. I'm sorry that this isn't the world I grew up in... Well, whatever. Goodbye, probably forever." With that I left.
