The cold, winter-morning light woke Ella before her alarm clock did. She sighed and checked the clock. 6:30, half an hour before the breakfast bell was rung. I might as well get dressed, she thought with a yawn. Only then did she notice that her sisters bed was empty, her sister that never got up before the bell? She checked the clock again. Only five minutes had passed. Stay calm Ella, she is probably just sleeping in one of her friends dorms. She does that sometimes. No need to panic.
“Ugh, someone turn off the sun,” A disgruntled voice mumbled from the doorway
Ella knew- without looking- That the voice was Lucy’s. She turned slowly toward the doorway, ready to bombard her sister with questions, but the thing in the doorway wasn’t her sister, at least not anymore.
