The sun shines down,
I wander around this cold and empty town.
Then something catches my eye,
A shiny blue ball, even brighter than the sky!
My eyes wander for the owner of this miraculous toy,
I soon find a little girl, her smile, much like my small boy.
She walks to me, holding her hand out for me to take,
I take it, not considering the high stake.
She takes me to a much brighter place,
Trumpets blow, and are a bit more treble than bass.
We take a staircase to the clouds,
The air is peaceful, not loud.
I sigh and let this girl lead me.
The light grows brighter, consuming me,
And everything I was ‘bout to be.
I never understood what it felt like,
The peace of mind, me and her alike.
“We are finally together again daddy.” the girl whispers.
The memory of my lost little girl flickers.
“I’m sorry you had to leave.”
I said to my girl, the girl that had to leave the family her first Christmas eve.
We enter to the world of peace and everything ended here,
Me, safe with my lost family, as I peer round.
Safe again: by me.
