I looked everywhere for a job, but it was hard to get people to hire me, because I only had one outfit and a bundle of maybe three fives and seven ones. It wasn't like I could clean my clothes, without being totally naked while doing so, so I had no choice but to wear these dirty clothes. I stayed at the homeless shelter for three days before someone noticed that I was always wearing the same clothes.
"Don't you have other clothes to wear?" one of the ladies from the women's side asked me. I shook my head.
"No." I said. The lady looked shocked.
"I might have some clothes you could use." she said, "It's better to have at least two more outfits and you need to wash your clothes, they are getting very dirty. Besides, why don't you have any other clothes? Did you lose them in a fire or something?" I sighed.
"Trust me." I said, "You wouldn't believe me even if I told you."
"I doubt that." the lady said, "There's so much crazy stuff going on in the world, what is there to not believe?"
"A dimension slip." I said. The lady's eyes widened.
"Oh..." she said, "That's... That's not possible."
"I told you that you wouldn't believe me." I said.
"Uh..." the lady said, "I'm going to go now..." The lady quickly backed away from me and ran into the other room. I could hear her talking about me in there and to be honest, it hurt, but I wasn't going to let that bother me. I walked up to one of the people in charge of the shelter, it was a middle-aged lady with shoulder length hair and a fake smile plastered on her lips.
"Hi." she said, "What can I help you with?"
"I need clothes..." I said bluntly, "And I only have like $22."
"Okay." the lady said, "What do you need?"
"Everything." I said. The woman looked at my clothes.
"Yeah..." she said, "These clothes are really dirty, do you have a change of clothes?"
"No." I said, "That's why I'm asking you." The woman blushed.
"Well then..." she said, "I'm sure we have some donations here somewhere. Hopefully we find some clothes that fit you... What was your name again?"
"Dee." I said, "Dee Michelson."
"What is 'Dee' short for?" the woman asked.
"Deharia." I said.
"Is that even a name?" the woman asked. I glared at her.
"Are you going to help me or not?" I asked. The woman sighed as she showed me into the backroom where they kept all their donations. She opened a few bags of clothes and gave them to me.
"Try these on." the woman said, not faking a smile anymore, "Something should fit... You're not heavy and are about average height, so it should be easy for you to find something."
"Okay." I said, "Thank you." I took them into the bathroom and tried just about everything on.
"Are you done in there?" a woman shouted, pounding on the door.
"Not yet." I shouted back as I changed into a comfortable outfit that surprisingly fit very well. I put the clothes that fit me in one bag and the ones that didn't in the other. I took the clothes that fit me and put them underneath the bed I was using and took the rest back to the back room. I then went and put my dirty clothes in the wash.
"You're finally washing those gross old things?" one of the women I was closer to asked, "I was worried that I'd have to smell them for another day... So gross."
