I peer into the mirror and am amazed and frightened at what I see. The simple and ordinary girl I knew with long dark brown hair, is replaced by a boy. He looks about my age, maybe a few years older. His ear-length hair looks shiny and black. A rose red tint laminates it. His neatly curved eyebrows are set over grayish colored eyes staring into mine. He's amazingly cute or perhaps beautiful is a better word. His facial expression resembled mine; complete amazement. The longer I stared at him, the harder it was to look away. His gaze seemed to be enchanting, drawing my attention to him only.
He suddenly looked behind him over his shoulder. My eyes followed. The creature had appeared again, but it seemed to only be in the same location as the boy. The creatures mouth began to move in different positions, as if it was talking to the boy. The boy seemed to have responded, but I couldn't tell for sure because his back was turned towards me. I didn't know what he said either of if he had said anything. The movements of the creature and boy began to slow down. It was like I was watching the slow-motion part of a movie. I began to move my hand up to my face and realized I was moving at the same exact speed as them. Our movements became slower as each second in 60 minutes passed by. I forced my head to look over at my clock. It was 7:40. By this time I would have been getting out the shower and starting to get dressed.
I turned my head back to the boy and creature. I began to feel sluggish and sleepy. All I wanted to do, was let everything in my body go and collapse onto the floor below. Everything suddenly came to a halt. My mirror became a portrait of the boy and creature. I was paralyzed. I couldn't move a muscle, finger, or toe. Time even seemed to freeze. No sound from my echoed through my room from the outside or inside the house. My mirror began to move. It started to slide upward. It moved slow and smooth as if someone was taking their time moving it so as not to break the glass. I too, was moving staying parallel with the mirror. My head became unfrozen. I was able to look around and see the room and the objects in it were moving too.
The room mimicked the minute hands on a clock. or wristwatch, moving every minute or so. I heard a sudden click. It echoed through my room, as if the room were empty. Everything froze in mid-air again. I felt lightheaded. Purple and blue fuzzy dots started to seep in and cloud my vision. Everything began to look like pixels from pictures on a computer screen. My chest tightened and I found myself gasping for air. Through the blur, I saw shadow-like hands reach through the mirror towards me. They moved slowly, growing longer until they touched me. The hands felt like hooks as they dug into me. But when I looked no blood had appeared. The hands moved back into the mirror, taking me with them. Sharp pains repeatedly flowed throughout my body. I felt as if I was being ripped from my own body. The mirror shattered as I collided with it. Shards of it making light tapping sounds as they scattered on the floor.
