It is a usual lovely morning at Rublor city.
At the first rays of sunrise, the city comes alive. The side streets open up their stalls and market shops so they would catch the early morning customers who race to get the hands on the freshest of the goods.
The market always had new faces. The merchant and traders who travel all around the world try their luck to earn profits in the market of Rublor, as the Rublor city was situated at the heart of Abros in the center of the nation.
The city was always filled with surprises, every day.
Although the Archangel Training Barracks was located on the outskirts of the Rublor city near the Hilly mountains that act as a natural barricade to protect Rublor city itself. The vast plain region at the periphery of the Rublor city was used mostly by farmers and the soldiers only.
On the top of the north-east hilly area, was the Archangel Stronghold castle that would act as the watchdog tower that could easily eye every moment inside the Rublor city as well as beyond the walls of mother nature herself, easily. The training barracks was situated at the bottom of the foothills near the castle, with the vast proportion of land under the control of the army. Just exact outside the training camp another small town named Campbell.
The inhabitants of Campbell town where a bunch of workers and servants who set up a leisure and entertainment for the fellow soldiers at the barracks. Most of the household people were the personal servant and guard of the noble and wealthy students admitted in the academy.
The majority of students of Archangel Training Barracks belonged to a noble and wealthy family. The other minorities were accepted because of scholarship or with connection with high-class ministers, or the royal family, etc.
Although the morning in Campbell isn’t lively as the Rublor city. As usual, there were maids that had just unlocked the chicken coop so that they would collect the eggs. Some people would yawn while stretched their arms so that they could warm up their lazy body while bathed in the morning sunlight. It was a very peaceful scene like always, but it didn’t last long.
A young fellow ran in haste through the empty soiled road while he blew the dust behind him. He looked like a student from the academy because he wore the white knight uniform coat, but the attire underneath the coat was similar to poor drunkard fellow.
His hair was messed up and dusty. His shirt has partly untucked within the pants, while the other half wavered at wind while he ran like crazy.
His face had a dreadful expression as if his life was on the line! He was drenched with sweat, while his left boot was still unlaced. He carried his backup in his right arm, while the left arm waved which tried to balance while that what kept him on his feet.
‘HOLY SHIT!!! I am so screwed up! Getting late on the first day, Thanks to Armin’s teacher. If I hadn’t come up with the loo excuse, she would have continued to complain about Armin and his sleeping habit in-between lectures.’, cursed Lucifer in his thought.
Lucifer was enrolled in the Archangel Training Barracks because of his only foster parent, Aunt Cecelia. She is the commander of Imperial White Knights Army as well as the head administrator of the Archangel Training barracks. She was elected as the commander soon after she adopted Lucifer along with his siblings.
Later she had to hand them under the care of the government as she was very busy with her duties. Most of the ministers loathed the orphan trio, as they were the heir to the royal bloodline to Stezar empire. They used to tamper with the allowance sent by the Aunt Cecelia for the daily use for the orphans. Aunt Cecelia knew about this fact but could not go against the ministers, but they allowed Aunt Cecelia to admit him in the world’s elite training school with the along with other students only in one condition.
Lucifer would not be allowed to bring his siblings along in the dormitory room of Archangel Training campus.
Lady Cecelia was infuriated because the ministers wanted to tear apart the siblings. She dragged the ministers to the king, where they settle the matter while they allowed lived the trio orphan in a tiny rental apartment outside the academy campus, in the town Campbell. The rental apartment was only used by servants and workers that earned their living by entertaining the soldiers at the campus.
Lucifer and his siblings were provided with clothes of pre-worn attire of Noble’s servants and their kids. They were in decent condition though. Every student from the school he attended looked him as the enemy. Never did the noble and wealthy people thought of him as a friend. All the harsh treatment just because they had the Warden blood that flows through their veins.
But the orphan Trio never complained about their life to Aunt Cecelia. Lucifer was happy that Aunt Cecelia had adopted them as their son, Although the personality traits of Cecelia and Lucifer were the exact polar opposite of each other.
‘Almost there! Damn It’s so difficult to run on an empty stomach.’
Lucifer halts at the entrance gate of the campus. He bends a little while he grabbed both his knees in hand, while he tried to catch a breath. He panted heavily.
Across the entrance gate, a Lady who was sweeping the floor saw the restless Lucifer and came in a hurry. She had a dust cap that tried to cover her blonde curly hair from dust, but some of her curls came out through edges. Short in height and was a little plum in size. She walked quickly towards Lucifer although she looked adorable as the penguins.
“Lucifer boy!? You is late! All students, inside. Madame Cecelia started to shout. Hurry Boy! Hurry! “, her blue eyes wide open while she tells Lucifer to speed up.
Her name is Miss Sofie Savonije she is the maid-caretaker of the academy. Her English language was a little funny because she just started to learn it about a year ago or so. She was from native nomad tribe that was annihilated during the war between Stezar and Abros nation. Her husband who was a soldier in Abros undertook the care of the sole survivor of the nomad tribe, Sofie who later fall in love and got married. He taught Sofie the English language little by little but was killed during the war, then.
“Yeah, yeah! Thanks for reminding me again. By the way, that is not called shouting, it’s called giving a speech. But I think you are right, Aunt Cecelia giving a speech? I believe that it should be counted as scolding more than a speech.”
“Oh, spich? I will remember it” From nowhere she tucked out a little handbook and a pencil from her chest pocket from the apron, and try to note it down while she repeated the word over again.
“ S-P-I-C-H = no shout ”
“Uh? It’s SPEECH, and not spich”
“Seech?”
“No. Speech”
“Spik”
“It’s S for Sparrow, P for plum, E for Eleven, E for Egg, C for cut, H for a handkerchief. S-P-E-E-C-H”
“Oh, speech is eleven plum sparrow eggs cut in handkerchief? ”
“....what the….Nevermind! I m LATE!!!!! SHIT!”, Lucifer again started to run on his toes, “Later I shall write down the spelling, BYE.”
“Bye Lucifer boy.”
The auditorium hall where the speech was held was long inside the campus, far away from the entrance.
‘Damn no single student’s soul is in the vicinity! Am I the only person that is late? At the first day of the academy, I just screwed up my school life a big time. I bet Aunt Cecelia won’t go easy on her beloved little Lucifer.’
He reached the Building where the main auditorium was situated. He paused for a second to catch a breath and push opened the massive entrance door made of timber wood, which created a creaky noise while he entered hall without getting further delayed. He was ready to face the commander of white Knights head on.
P.S.- he forgot about the sweat-drenched uniform coat, half tucked shirt and left unlaced boots, along with dirty, messy hair. Even his shirt buttons were wrongly enclosed.
