Allie helps me through out the day, with everything, getting to class, helping with my locker, adjusting the bandages. After lunch, I go back to my locker with Allie's guidance, then she goes to grab something from her locker, and tells me to stay put. I hear her footsteps fade, then I attempt to open my locker myself. I fail miserably. Someone walks up to me from behind. "Need help?" Said someone I don't know, but I wasn't going to refuse the help, who knows when Allie is going to be back?
"Sure." I shuffle backwards, thankfully not into the person. They ask for my combo, and I tell him, then the locker is open. "Thank you." I put my hands out in front of me and grab what I hope is my history textbook.
"What's your name?" I've guessed that the person is a guy by now.
"Eryn. What's yours?" I close my locker again.
"Michael. What's your next class?"
"World history." I turn toward him, and brush my hair from my face.
"Oh! Me too, do you want to walk there together?"
I shrug. "Why not?" We start off toward the direction of the classroom, Allie far from my mind.
When we get to the classroom, I find my seat-that took me a few minutes, but nobody cared- and sit down, and wait for the lesson to begin. The boy behind me whispers in my ear, "Will you need help with your locker again?" I had no idea that the person behind me was Michael. "I'd be happy to help you." That was the kind of thing someone would say with a wink. I imagined his chocolate brown eye blinking against his fair skin, his blue eye staying open to watch my reaction. I suddenly felt flustered.
"I probably will." I find it in myself to grin. Even though I know I'm not supposed to hear, I hear him say, 'Excellent.'
After class, we walk back to my locker, get my things, then walk to his locker to get his things, then he leads me to my next class. Right before I walk in, I find his face with my hands nd give him a kiss on what I hope was his cheek. "Thank you." Then I walk into the classroom. The last one of the day. I turn back to see his reaction, then I remember I can't see, so I cover it up by grinning. Class begins.
