Light shimmered through the glass of the window, passed the curtains into the dimmed-out room. The light guided warmth on whatever it touched.
Neatly organized was what this room was. Two small-sized bookshelves lined along the wall on the side where the door was in place. A simple desk on the corresponding side was piled with pencils of different categories, along with a notebook.
In the corner of the last two walls was a bed, where a figure laid.

A bright light was shining right towards my face. I had to see what that was. Opening my eyelids to reveal my dark-blue colored eyes, I realized it was the morning sun. I groaned and thought, “Ugh, it’s morning, which means I got to get ready “. However, like every morning, I always try to squeeze in just a few more minutes of sleepy time.
Zzzzzz… zzzzzz…
I opened my eyes to what felt like moments later and looked at the clock sitting on the small nightstand next to my bed. “OH…SHIT!” I never learn. It’s already 9:38 a.m., I have class at 10 a.m. I only have twenty-two minutes to get ready and to get there.
I jumped out of bed and zoomed towards the closet. I slid the closet door open with a small slam. There was tons of hanging clothing from wall to wall in the closet. I grabbed whatever I thought seem to go together at the moment. I changed in quick time and grabbed my gray shoulder bag and headed towards my room door. Right before I reached the door, I did a quick turn towards my desk. Can’t be forgetting my precious notebook! I thought. I grabbed my notebook and a handful of pencils off the desk and shoved them into my bag.
I opened my room door and stepped out to rush through the rest of my apartment. I quickly went to the bathroom to at least brush my teeth and splash water on my face. I brushed in the quickest manner possible, splash water on my face, and rubbed my face on a towel to dry. I did one last glance at the mirror and my hair definitely looked like I just got out of bed. My usual hair is straight, black hair with a bit of fluff just barely brushing the top of my shoulders with a sweep of front side-bangs to the right. And oh boy, that is not what my hair looked like at all…But that wasn’t my main focus anyways.
After that, I looked down at my scratched-up, black watch that sat on my wrist. It said 9:46 a.m. I did not have time for anything else, so I headed straight to the front door, sliding on my shoes that sat on the floor there.
I opened and slammed the front door right behind me as I hurried to get to where I needed to be. It usually takes me about 30 minutes to get to campus. If I rush and sped up my pace, I might be able to make it… MIGHT. With that mind set, I dashed down the stairs from my apartment on the 2nd floor and on to the sidewalk towards my destination.
