Before all of this happened, things began as a “normal” of day. It was the kind of normal that seems weird to many, yet normal to a select few. In the town where these unusual moments happen daily, an explosion from a bank two streets away. A group of masked men ran out of the bank, with guns and rifles in their grasp.

“Go, go, go!” one of the robbers yelled, and many of them quickly got into their getaway van.

“If we hurry to the hideout, we’d be able to beat that bunny freak and his crazy sociopath partner,” the other robber commented. The gang straps in their seatbelts, turned the ignition, then sped off in seconds. The police trailed the getaway van, but the robbers pulled out their guns and began to fire at them. The police swerved and shuttered as they try to move the car out of the way of the gun fire.

“Mayday! Mayday! Suspect is opening fire on us! I repeat, SUSPECT IS OPENING FIRE ON US!!” The police officer shouted into his radio, “We need backup, stat!!” Meanwhile, from atop the roof of a tall building, two folks, a fox and a bunny, sat down together and had some lunch.

“Gee big brother, you really outdid yourself with these chicken sandwiches today,” the bunny spoke to the fox.

“Thanks, Joey,” The fox said with a smile, “I think that touch of cumin REALLY does the chicken some good.” The duo’s lunch were suddenly interrupted by the sounds of screeching cars and police sirens from down below. The fox looks down and peers his binocular-like eyes to see the getaway car shooting at the police.

“Uh-Oh! Look out, bro! It’s time to go!” Jean-Luc tells Joey, The fox quickly put his sandwich away for later, and quickly jumps off of the building. Joey watches in surprise, but then quickly eats his sandwich whole and jumps down as well. The dynamic duo drop down the tall building, but then Jean-Luc reveals a wristwatch hidden under his glove, pressed a button, and a sleek, classic automobile sped into the landing spot, allowing the dynamic duo to jump in unharmed. Jean-Luc jams his key in, turns the ignition, and simply burned rubber as he and Joey gave chase to the police and the getaway van.

“What do you think it is, big brother?” Joey pondered to his big brother.

“Not sure, probably speeding, or a robbery,” Jean-Luc hypothesized, “No matter what it is, we’d better stop it before people get hurt. Jean-Luc turned his eyes pure white as he began to foresee the next location of the getaway car. After getting a decent location, Jean-Luc then takes a shortcut down a straight alleyway. Shifting into high gear, the duo drive the car into ramming speed, and in the nick of time because the getaway vehicle was right in their vicinity. Just as the hood of the car touch the lane of the alley, Jean-Luc and Joey suddenly RAM straight into the engine compartment of the car, causing it to spin out of control and slightly slip itself into the air. The getaway van, and its passengers go for a tumbling ride as their car rolled from off of the road and into a nearby park. The dynamic duo chase behind the tumbling car, then drive in front of it and press its rear against the car in order to slow it down. Once the car stopped, the robbers crawl out of the car and try to make a run for it while Jean-Luc and Joey just sit there watching.

“What are we doing, dad?! They’re getting away!” Joey shouted in surprise of Jean-Luc’s actions. Jean-Luc looks at Joey casually and states, “On the contrary, my son, where would they go….. WITHOUT THEIR WEAPONS?” Jean-Luc then laughs goofily as the robbers attempt to run, not knowing that their guns have been snatched within the tail of the clever fox. The police, who are also at the bottom end of the park, stand with guns loaded and waiting for the robbers to run into them.

“Aaand three, two, one~” Jean-Luc counted as he checked his watch.

“FREEZE!!” shouted a police officer. He and the officers have the robbers trapped in place.

“Bingo,” Jean-Luc chuckled. He and Joey watch as the robbers get arrested, then begin to drive off for the way home.

“What an easy day today, don’t you think, big brother?”

“Sure is,” Jean-Luc agreed, “Plus, on a nice and shiny day like this, what could possibly go wrong?”

The dynamic duo drive as the sun shines for their peaceful day. However, in a restricted zone that is miles and miles away, trouble begins to brew. In a far desert, surrounded by restrictive barriers, a laboratory begins to perform staggering experiments. To a tune of classical music, a group of scientists stand in a dark room with a set of tools and look over a rotting plant corpse. The scientists examine the bacteria and disgusting maggots that form within this pile of heap. A collection of experimental flasks, each filled with a wide assortment of mixed chemicals, were tested by the droplets to see how it would react. One of the scientists looked at his leader with disdain, questioning, “Dr. Gordon…. How do we know this experiment will revitalize this…. This corpse?” The doctor in question stayed focused on his work, but he simply replied, “All questions will be answered in due time... Dr. Henry… all in due time.” Dr. Gordon then took a few chemicals and mixed them with a rod of uranium, sodium, and an unknown ionic solution to create a reactive, yet glowing mix. The flask that held the mixture could not withstand the reactive mix and exploded, causing the mixed chemicals to splatter all over the corpse. Once the doctors unshielded their faces, they examine the corpse. The plant corpse began to absorb the chemicals until it shivered, shook, and jittered all about.

“Dr. Gordon! What’s it doing?!” yelled Dr. Henry.

“Wait for it….” Dr. Gordon retorted. The plant violently shook as it tried to absorb everything, but then it suddenly stopped. The corpse then fell flat onto the metal table and was quiet. Dr. Gordon walked up to the plant slowly and gently checked for a pulse. There was nothing. Dr. Gordon was about to slink in despair, telling himself, “Another failed experiment…” He looked down then slammed his fists onto the table, cursing at his ineffective skills. The other doctors attempted to calm him down, but Gordon was too distraught to care.

“Go… leave while I clean everything up…” Dr. Gordon spoke, trying not to worry his fellow colleagues. The other doctors slowly walked back into the dark while Gordon stayed behind. Gordon continued to look down in despair, but then a surge of energy suddenly began to rush into his head. Gordon did not want to have another experiment fail on him, so he took all of the chemicals he had around them, and began to test different kinds of reactions. Gordon stayed in the room and worked for over four hours. In the coming evening, Dr. Henry walked to the door of the laboratory and peeked her head inside. She saw Dr. Gordon standing by, with his head looking down at the plant corpse. Dr. Henry was worried.

“Doctor… You’ve been here for hours…” Dr. Henry proposed, “Did not you want to stop and go home?”

“I don’t want to go home, Henry…” Gordon muttered, “I’m so close… but I just need to wait… I will make this work… I will…!”

“But Dr. Gordon!” Dr. Henry argued, “You have been conducting this experiment for over four years! Where’s the success if you can’t even bring yourself to finish other projects. Projects that are actually beneficial to society, rather than this…. This….”

“THIS WHAT?!” Dr. Gordon spoke in anger, “YOU’RE MY APPRENTICE! NOT MY BOSS!” The angry doctor then grabbed a nearby crowbar and began to swing it at Dr. Henry while shouting, “YOU GET OUT RIGHT NOW, YOU-!” He suddenly stopped when a small murmur emitted from the corpse. Dr. Gordon and Dr. Henry slowly turn their heads and look at the corpse. The corpse muttered in an unintelligible language, then began to shutter everywhere, shaking the table. The corpse then when limp again in a deep silence. The scientists look at the corpse, grab the crowbar and gently poke it. The corpse stayed still, but then it slowly stood up, reshaping its natural colors once again. The corpse once again became a plant, and then stood tall in front of the two doctors. Dr. Gordon quickly ordered Dr. Henry to place the plant in some fresh dirt and water in order for it to stay alive and the secondary doctor did just that. She stared at the living plant in amazement as she told Gordon, “Dr. Gordon…. You did it… YOU BROUGHT THIS PLANT BACK TO LIFE!” Dr. Gordon dropped his crowbar in deep exasperation. He did not know what to expect… Dr. Gordon slowly fell to his knees and tears fell down his face. A project he had worked on for over four years, one he constantly lost funding for, a dream he did not give up on, had finally been accomplished. Dr. Gordon then picked himself back up and held the pride and joy in his arms. The doctor gently caressed the leaves of this revitalized plant, telling himself that he finally did it.

Under all of the excitement, things took a sudden dark turn. Dr. Henry suddenly screamed! The revitalized corpse then begins to strangle Dr. Gordon and throw him down to the ground, causing him to drop and break the pot holding the plant. Dr. Henry vainly tried to save him, but the plant struck her down as well. It then vibrated and grew into a massive size. The plant mutated with dark liver spots around its stem, viciously dark veins upon its leaves, while the inner workings of the plant grew a voracious mouth. Vines tied itself around both doctors to harshly restrain them, and amongst its slimy pores, a gas emitted, knocking both doctors out. The plant caused a huge uproar, and began to viciously maul the doctors. Each bite allowed the plant to release a type of poison that began to zombify their poor bodies. Soldiers, guards, and agents of the Men in Black attempt to stop the beast, but to no avail…. It was not long until the entire restricted area was infected, and with the “diseased” plant spreading its infection rapidly, it is unknown where it will attack next…

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!” a scream pierced the skies, only for it to be Joey whom was watching a scary movie about killer plants with Jean-Luc. He then clings to the fox as the movie continues

“Intern, are you not aware that the Venus flytrap is a honking pile of cells and excrement?!” The movie scientist shouted while being swung around in the mouth of the beast.” The beast then throws the scientist into its mouth and swallows it entirely. The plant then burps, causing a pain of pens to fly out. The movie ends with cheesy horror music playing in the background and the words “THE END” flash onto the screen.

“Gee big brother… that movie was pretty scary…” Joey shivered.

“I dunno… by the fourth installment, things started to get a little TOO corny for my tastes.” Jean-Luc contemplated.

“Well either way, I-I’m not gonna sit around and let a giant man-eating plant make me a Joey Salad.” The fact of how corny Joey sounded made Jean-Luc laugh altogether. He then rubs the bunny’s head and says to him, “You’re adorable, little dude,” then playfully pokes his nose to make Joey laugh. A small beeping sound is heard, making the brothers look around the living room to find the sound. The fox then realizes that his smartwatch was ringing and then answered it from under his left glove.

“Hello?”

“Joey! Jean-Luc! You’ll never believe what I just discovered! Get over here quick!” 100% Julie exasperated. She then immediately hung up before Jean-Luc could even say a word. The fox blinks a few times, then tells Joey, “Looks like we’re going to Julie’s house.”
