As we walked into the school I was not prepared for how many people were squished together in the hallway. The air became instantly warmer from a number of bodies packed tightly together in the one room with many kids throwing paper planes at each other or desperately getting books out their locker trying to get to home class as quickly as possible.

I was mesmerized by the sheer amount of chaos.

Emma turned to me and commented “You look like this is your first day at school”

I shook my head meekly in response trying to perfect my “Anne” persona.

We weaved and dodged through the crowd until we got to the home class room. It was a big and bustling room with large clear windows and rows of neatly packed desks.

I peered around the room and my blood instantly chilled at the sight of a girl sitting at the back of the room. It was Vesper Quintana for sure.

Emma smiled and led me through the maze of desks until we reached the one was Vesper and a blonde hair girl sat at. The blonde was smiling and chatting cheerily to the noir haired Vesper.

I tried to gain some composure as the blonde hair girl got up from her desk and ran over to hug me.

“Oh, Anne everyone was so worried about you since the lake incident”.

She was a liar and she smelt like death. I knew she was lying because I had witnessed firsthand her pushing Anne into that lake and leaving her for dead. I was the one who had rescued Anne after all.

I hugged her back and smiled sweetly keeping up the act.

“Well, I’m still in one piece you see” I laughed softly.

She returned the smile then her face instantly lit up.

I gazed at Vesper under my eyelashes she looked up at me with a smirk on her face that showed off her sharp teeth.

“So, who’s your friend,” Emma asked as she gestured to Vesper.

“Silly me I haven’t introduced you guys to the new transfer student this is Vesper Quintana” Sophie gushed.

I raised an eyebrow. So, she didn’t bother to change her name.

Vesper stood up and smiled sweetly “Pleasure to make your acquaintance”

Even though she appeared innocent I could feel her violet eyes boring into my skull and the tapping of her sharp fingernails on the desk.

Sophie stared at the two of us as if she could feel the electricity too.

Suddenly she held flopped down on the floor and held her stomach tightly.

“Owwww my stomach hurts I think I have cramps” She declared.

“Oh my gosh are you okay Sophie I’ll take you to the nurse straight away,” Emma said clearly distressed about her friend.

Emma slung an arm around Sophie’s shoulder and half dragged her out of the class room. Leaving Vesper and me alone together.

‘’ you brat do you think you can get in the way of my plan with such a petty disguise” Vesper snarled at me through clenched teeth.

I leaned in and whispered, “Do you think you can get in the way of my mission with such a laughable minion”.

She shook her head impatiently glaring daggers at me.

“Doesn’t matter I’ve done it once and I’ll do it again?” she said.

“She was just a baby then besides I will take you down even if I have to kill everyone in this room to do it” I spat at her.

 her face was turning red with anger.

“Why don’t you then,” she said as she stormed off.

I absolutely couldn’t do that since I was still disguised as Anne but it felt good to press a few of Vesper's buttons I thought as I sat down at the empty desk as the teacher walked in to take roll call.

*Half an hour later*

I walked into my first class of the day which was science.

The lab was sparkling white and incredibly pristine and the smell of air freshener in the air completed the medical vibe of the whole place.

I sat down at a lab bench and began to work on the task that was on the sheet in front of me when a tall boy with a cocky grin on his face swaggered up to me.

“Hey babe,” he said in a tone that left shivers up my spine (not the nice kind).

I cringed away from this arrogant dude and tried to think about what he was to Anne. She never had a boyfriend that I had ever seen.

I waved a simple hello and got back to work.

He frowned at me obviously wanting more attention.

“Hey bitch look at me when I talking to you,” he said darkly.

My hand froze in mid-air as I was turning the Bunsen burner on.

“Excuse me?” I asked flatly.

I was about to lose my patience with this guy. How dare he talk to rudely to my precious Anne.

He rolled his eyes and said, “If you want me to pay any attention to a loser like you, you better do all my half of the assignment”.

“Oh I get you’re her crush right” I sighed.

Now looking at him I realized he was kinda good looking. Poor inexperienced Anne gave up her heart to the first boy that paid attention to her well I’m going to change that.

I smiled menacingly at him and grabbed his hands before he could flinch away I pressed them onto the open flame of the Bunsen burner.

He wailed with pain shouting a bunch of cuss words but not matter how much he squirmed he couldn’t get out of my grip.

I laughed darkly at his torment.

“Yes, this is the price you must pay for treating my Anne with such disrespect!” I laughed.

Everyone in the class turned around and stared at us but no one made a move. They were all in shock at the scene in front of them.

I took advantage of their fear and let go of the jerk and slipped out of the lab before anyone could think to stop me.

I raced through the corridors as the bell signalled for the class to end.

When I reached my locker Sophie, Emma and Vesper were there waiting for me.

I slid to a stop on the squeaky floor. “What’s up guys,” I said trying to sound as casual as possible.

“We were all thinking about visiting wonderland emporium in lunch break” Emma gushed clearly excited.

“Would you like to join us?” Vesper said in a sickly-sweet tone.

“Oh, sure I would love too!” I said with a smile.

Once I had put all my stuff in the locker we all joined hands (barf) and walked out of the school heading in the direction of Wonderland Emporium.
