“So you’re saying…” He began, with a derpy smile plastered across his face. “That you’d like a hand?” He asked, holding up his mech arm.
“You’re going to hell.” Angelica sighed, shaking her head. Apparently even she couldn’t stand his arm puns.
“Aww, come one. My puns are completely-” He paused for dramatic effect, “ ‘Armless.”
We all groaned. Lucian let out a tiny giggle, which was odd to hear coming from a grown man.“You are an odd group of people. One hour and a half left by the way.”Cyrus grimaced at being reminded how much time we had left. He sighed, clearly wondering if he could make one last pun.
It was an hour later when finally one of us said something. Angelica let out a yell, holding up a yellowing piece of paper. We all ran over and peered over her shoulder at the letter.
My Dearest Addis
I hate to be the bearer of bad news our experiments have all been failures. And now I fear someone is on to our plans. To keep working I am forced into hiding, I leave the house and all furniture in your hands. No one will know where to find me, sadly not even you. I cannot let you, my dearest friend, to be put in such danger. So, this is the last message I will ever speak to you until my experiments are completed. I feel I am close to ending this life-long goal. Hopefully, I will finish quickly and be able to join you again in society. Until then, good luck. And be careful. The last time we will see each other is at Silverfawn Park during King Ader’s Coronation Anniversary.
Goodbye,
Markus A. Wellington.
Markus A. Wellington.
Angelica finished reading the letter out loud, and we all stared down at the letter. “Our only lead after nearly three hours of searching is a twenty year old anniversary?” Vincent asked.
“Apparen’ly.” Cyrus said. “Angelica?” He said. She looked up at him.“We’re gonna need the location of this park for tomorrow.” She nodded, but glanced up at him.
“Why tomorrow?” She asked. He stared down at her.
“I’m tired.”
I rolled my eyes. “Vincent and I could go to the library and look up the anniversary in the books to find out more about it.” I suggest, Vincent glares at me but says nothing. His eyes convey his condemnation for both books and myself right now. Lucian sees us out, taking the letter from our hands on the way. We take a cab back to the port and settle down at the ship, taking a break after a long day of work.
