I hate living in the woods. It gets too dark here and there are too many noises outside that creep me out. Specially at night, ever since we move in, there has been a scraping noise outside the window. It sounds like claws against the glass. Something wants to come in, as it keeps scratching the glass. I always keep my back to the window, I'm to scared to see what it is.
I try to tell my parents but they say that it's just the branch from the tree hitting the window. I know it's something else, all I need to do is to keep the window closed and locked no matter what. Then one hot summer day our AC broke. It was hot and muggy in the house, it felt hard to breath.
So my parents decided to leave the windows open during the day to help cool the house down. When night came I rush to my room to make sure the window was closed and locked. I didn't care if I had to sleep in a pool of my own sweat, I knew I would be safe so I pass out. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling how nice and cool the room felt. A chill went up my spine as fear took over when I heard the wind blowing and something scraping the wood. The window was open.
