Naturally, Zeke's estimation was incorrect. The next day, he had come home so exhausted, he forgot to set his alarm, and ended up late. A rough start to a rough day. A few times, he fell asleep while he was typing up code, face on the keyboard. Of course, that meant he'd have to go back and delete all the random letters his sleepy keyboard smash had added, which took a while. Adding to that, in his grogginess, he'd made several typos throughout the screen. It could've been his lack of Maria, the only thing that kept him going besides the fate of his boss.
After a long two days of sitting and typing, the coding portion was complete. Next, he'd finish the body! Thank the heavens he wouldn't have to sit around for hours anymore, he would finally get some hands-on activity. That'd be for another day, though, Zeke needed sleep.
So then he arrived the next day, a decent amount of sleep in his body, as well as a hefty amount of coffee. Now that he stood in front of the body of his newest creation, he realized just how close to finishing he truly was. In a rush, he decided to forgo the protective goggles he'd usually wear so as not to get chunks of metal in his face. What a mistake that'd be.
After several hours of work on the body and wiring within, it was done. Well, almost. He needed to cut a sheet of metal to fit across the chest of the android to hold the wiring in. Zeke hummed and nodded, beginning to cut the sheet when the door opened. That, he didn't hear. All he heard was a soft, "Zeke!" which caused him to turn his head for a moment. That moment was just enough to ruin his life.
See, as he began to look over at the voice, his hand nearly went under the saw. Noticing this, at least, he slammed his hand down onto the power switch, the force making the metal act as a sort of catapult to launch a few particularly sharp scraps into the air. When he turned back to the machine, all he saw were the scraps sailing right toward him, and then darkness bleeding into his vision. Then there was only pain and darkness.
