Lilith's POV
My plan had been going smoothly so far Anne was safe in the tower and I had successfully been able to take her blood.
Vampires could manipulate their physical features to become like the persons whose blood they had drunken. It was a tricky process though and not well known to most people dead and undead.
But never the less I had been successful in "becoming" Anne if you will.
I had to do this to keep her safe and infiltrate the village of Eden undetected.
Vesper had her minions hidden amongst the people here and it was my job to take "care'' care of them.
I laughed darkly as I thought of the satisfaction it would give me to ruffle a few of Vesper's feathers.
She deserved way worse after all.
She had only just been brought back to life when Anne sacrifice her blood to her when she was drowning unwilling in the lake.
Poor girl didn't even know what she had done. Oh well, it was better to keep her in the dark.
I walked down the path to her house and opened the wooden door.
Enya's body was gone and the kitchen was once again tidy a wave of relief washed over me. I was afraid I would have to get rid of the body that her minions had come back to do her dirty work after all.
I departed from the kitchen and walked up the stairs they creaked heavily when my boots pounded upon them as I made my way to Anne's bedroom.
I needed to get changed desperately does anybody know what it's like to wear the same black outfit for the last 30 years and not even something colourful at that. What a disgrace!
Her wardrobe was small an organised how cute her style was. Nothing but peter pan collars and lace.
After rifling through her clothes, I picked out a simple red tartan dress and a white peter pan collared shirt, I completed the outfit with black tights and delicate Mary Jane style shoes. Heavens! the girl had 10 pairs of the same shoe.
After I was satisfied with the outfit it I looked in the mirror for the first time since I had completed my transformation.
My lightless brown eyes had turned to a vivid shade of emerald, long wavy brown hair had been replaced by an equally long amount of red hair and a few freckles were dotted around my face like stars.
I suddenly felt guilty that I had taken away her identity but reminded myself firmly that I didn't make the rules they did all I could do was follow them and try not to get killed in the process.
It's distressing that such a young innocent girl could get caught up in all this but then again, she had been young and innocent the last time as well very young indeed...
I brushed out her hair (It didn't feel right to call it my own) and vacated her room. On the way, out I grabbed her school bag off the chair and slung it over my shoulder.
I made my way down the stairs and out the front door not bothering to lock it. I probably wouldn't come back ever again anyway and neither would Anne for that matter.
The air was crisp and fresh and the streets smelled earthy it was still autumn yet it had been so long since I could relax and stroll down a street at my own pace. Even though I was surely heading towards certain doom.
Not for me but surely for her minions it would be chaos I never got hurt on a mission and I was specially chosen for this one because of my ties to Eden. Even though it had been a while since I had stepped foot in this place. Approximately 300 years since I had been counting of course.
As I neared the local high school more and more kids were seen around the streets and laughter and friendly banter could be heard all around.
It was an odd sight for me to see as I had been homeschooled all my life. Do they really gather together outside in the cold every day?
Guess so poor humans don't they understand they could catch any illness floating around and die just like that. Ah, what a mournful existence indeed.
I was just about to reach the iron gate when I felt someone embrace me from behind. Oh no a surprise attack!
I quickly whirled around ready to slap whoever dare sneak up on me. When did I saw it was just a human girl?
Her hair was raven coloured and straight complimented by hazel green eyes.
She must be a friend of Anne's I picked up quickly. I instantly changed my intense glare into a friendly smile.
"Oh hey..." I said as I waved awkwardly
"Hey Anne, I glad to see your up and about again," She said.
"Yeah well I just couldn't miss school" I sounded cheerfully
Anne was a goody two shoes so of course, she would love school.
"Well I'm glad to hear Sophie should be here soon but she's that as usual," She said in a joking manner giving at playful eye roll.
So, her other friend's name is Sophie I noted.
"What you are waiting for let's get to home-class before the bell rings," She said as she linked arms with me.
The physical contact surprised me once again and I started awkwardly at our linked arms.
She gently nudged me in a single to go and I followed her into the school hobbling along.
