We saw land heading down below the clouds making it realize that the city was on top of a mountain or a really high landscape. The city looks like its made of gold, but its just a flaw cause as we go closer, the sun breaks off above higher clouds and we see the city now. It now glows with bronze, stone, metal, wood, making it a city you’d think of in a fairytale. We get closer and closer but it doesn’t seem to be getting close by, like the city keeps expanding cause of how huge it is. We start to lower and we see a docking station at the edge of a large building. Below that are some regular size houses, those must be the market houses we’ll be staying in. We get so close that the whole airship starts to rattle as we still look inside we see a white wall in front of us getting ready to collide, we freak out for a moment but soon realize we just fazed right through it, when we look again it seems the wall goes all the way around the city, like an invisible barrier cause the wall fades away mere seconds later.
The airship still sinking towards the dock as it gets closer and closer and closer and clo-BANG! Everyone falls to the ground as the airship hits the dock. We all get up and rub our heads; I help mother get aunt Calla up because she has trouble doing so. We all look out the window to see some soldiers coming out, some men hook up wires and clamps onto the airship, anchoring it down. They talk, pass papers back and forth, then a man in a dark hood but in a uniform of a higher rank soldier comes by and talks to the person with the papers. The man with the papers starts to shake and looking through then, like he made a mistake. Then the man in the hood clenches his fist and points at the man with the papers as he gets on his knees and begs. Then the man with the hood gets on his knees and places his hand on the mans shoulder and talks to him for a good minute. Then the man with the papers smiles a bit, trying to calm down, then frowns to what the man in the hood says to him as he stands up and holds up one of his hands. Then out of no where lightning comes from the man in the hoods hand as he charges his hand and launches it at the man on the ground as the hand hits the ground causing a mysterious circle with symbols to appear, then the man with the hood makes a sign with his hand and then closes it into a fist as the man with the papers fades into the ground screaming for mercy.
Then everything went back to normal, papers on the ground everywhere, everyone scared of what just happen, even the soldiers outside.
Then the man in the hood says something to the man next to him as he nods to what he heard, then the man in the hood puts an arm on his chest right before disappearing into thin air. Everyone inside the airship suddenly feel the power of the danger of what just happened. We now know what were facing, we aren’t just slaves to an army, but to a higher power of great evil that simply cannot be put into words to come out of my mouth. Everyone looks at each other but I continue to stare out the window to look at the soldiers walking by and starring at the spot where the man disappeared by the man in the hood.
Then I look to my left to see the other airships to see some men grabbing Terity and Odd whose bodies are unconscious. They get put into the back of those things with wheels as it takes them away. I look with shock for what I just saw, this is by far terrifying to me, what did they do? What will happen to them?
An hour or so later we got escorted out of the airship by men with rifles as we walk down a road with people on the side starring at us, these people wore the same strange clothing as the people did in Tretopolis, we walk and walk until our feet got tired as we rested, we were handed a very small cup of water before walking again. We pass by shops, buildings that looked weird by the naked eye, kids running at each other with sticks and stones. On the side of buildings we saw posters with big lettering saying “CIVILIAN MAGIC IS FORBIDDEN”. What is magic? Is it what we saw what that man with the hood did? I was very questioned by it that it just hooked on my memory.
Then when I look ahead to where I was going, I saw the man in the hood talking to Tajjit about something minor, everyone starts to get edgy by the sight of him.
Then Tajjit turns his head and stares straight at me, then the man with the hood looks at me too, then he kept starring as he removes his hood to show his face, but there was no face, just a black handkerchief over his face along with black goggles over his eyes. He lowers his head to focus in on me, then he shifts his left arm in front of him as he disappears and reappears right in front of me. Nearly everyone around me make a circle with me and the hooded man in the center. He gently kneels down in front of me as he lifts a hand in my faces view as I suddenly glow with a blue light coming from me. Then he drops his hand as I stop glowing. He stands but still looking at me with those dark goggles.
“The heart is the strongest power, muscle, and feeling that every person should have.” The hooded man says as he looks at his hand as he moves his fingers. “A strong power comes from within, if you have a strong heart, then you have a very strong willpower.”
“Wh-what are y-you saying?” I stutter as he places a hand on my shoulder.
“I not trying to sound impressive, but your willpower is much stronger than I, even better than your fathers.”
Wait, how does he know my father? I was gonna ask him but he disappeared and went back to Tajjit. Everyone shuffles back around me as we continue to walk down the street. How in the world does the important people around here know my father? He was just a miner and nothing else? Looks like I got some stuff to do around here, figuring out who my father was. Tajjit is my first culprit, then the man in the hood.
My mom grabs me from behind and rests her hands on my shoulders as she whispers to me.
“Are you okay, he didn’t hurt you?”
“No, he didn’t.” Is what I was hoping, I dont know if he placed a disease on me or something, but he did say that I have a stronger willpower than my father, what ever that means.
“Ok, now that were here, we need to place some certain bound rules again before leaving.” says a soldier with a piece of wood with a paper on it.
Leaving? We just got here is what I was thinking before I see a giant wooden gate that says “Rural Markets” on it. The soldier explains the rules we were given when we were in Tretopolis, before heading onto the airships. After he gets done explaining the rules, we hear a few clicks then the gate opens as we saw the rural market, it looks like our village except a little more modern, everything looks built well, theres a lot of people wearing new and very old cloths, some are just wearing pants with no shirt, some looked like they havn't bathed in months with such dirt on them with their beard covered in mud. We walked in hoping to have someone show us around but as soon as the last person went inside, the soldiers went back to the city and shut the gate behind us, this is now our home.
Then aunt Calla started coughing up a little blood as she falls to the ground, now shes coughing up a lot of blood. People surround my mom, Clira and I sit on the ground looking at aunt Calla before she starts to look really pale, we scream and scream for help, then people with buckets of water come and help caress her until she looks at me. I start screaming but I cant hear my own words, all my concentration is on her and only her. She wipes the blood away with a wet rag and puts her hand on my chest, and points to the spot where my heart is, she then speaks the last words that ever came out of her mouth.
“Don’t let f-fear, ov-overcome you k-kodath.” After that, I stopped questioning myself.
