By the time I got back home it was already dark.
I trudged along the garden path to my house while trying to mentally prepare myself for the scene I was about to witness.
As I reached the door as if by cue I heard my mother's wails and screams coming from inside the house.
It was always like this when I got home even a second late. Mother would scream and cry irrationally thinking that something bad had happened to me.
She was very overprotective almost suffocating but I didn't like to think about my mother in that way.
She was a very smart and beautiful woman who could do almost anything she put her mind to and except in this case which was to keep her daughter safe. My safety was always a worry of my mother's even though Eden was a very safe and comfortable place nothing ever happened here anyway.
It would be nice if something exciting would happen I thought to myself as I unlocked the front door.
My mother rushed out and pulled me tight into a hug she hugged me so tight it left painful finger marks across my skin.
"where were you!"
She demanded with an icy cold gaze I could see the red that rimmed her eyes from crying.
"Nowhere just out with friends"
I rushed to explain.
"hmm"
She murmured.
"give me your right arm"
"what"
"I said give it to me child do you love me or not".
"yes"
I said ashamed at myself for disrespecting my mother.
I gave her my hand and she turned it over so she should she the red blotches that appeared there.
"You know what to do"
She said as she gave me a stiff nod
I walked over to the kitchen and got out a pot and started to fill it with water. Then I placed it on the stove and waited for the water to boil.
Every time I would start to show symptoms of my sickness I had, mum would make me go through the excruciating pain that would remove these symptoms. It was the only way to temporarily kill my sickness and a way to prove my loyalty and love for my mother. She had always made me suffer to show her that I loved her and this was no different it was the right thing to do after.
I closed my eyes tight and plunged my hand into the boiling water it hurt like hell and would give me some nasty scars no doubt but I had to do it to get rid of the sickness and to prove my loyalty to my mother.
I had to fight pain with more pain.
She watched on with a serene smile on her pretty face.
I was so glad I could please my mother...
