The cell phone was vibrating somewhere to his right, Connor was vaguely aware. He groaned and reaching out for it, since there was no escaping it.
"'ello." he croaked out.
"Dude! where are you?! Wait, did I just wake you up? I knew it! I told you Johnny! I told you! He forgot-" By this time he removed his cell phone from his ear. He would not tolerate anymore shouting first thing in the morning.
"Shut the hell up." He's voice wasn't clear or loud enough to reach his friend over the shouting. So he cleared his throat and tried again. "Shut the hell up, moron!"
"What!" came another shout in reply.
"I'm awake now, alright? Stop screaming. Geez.." He threw away the cover and sat up.
"You basturd, you said the first you were going to do after returning is meet up with us. Didn't I say basturd forgot about us after having some assholes as his friends." The last part was for Johnny. Johnny said something in reply that was unclear.
"Travis, shut the fuck up. I'm coming okay? Won't take me more than ten minutes." Finally standing up.
There were still some more shouting, cussing amd yelping and finally the line was cut.
This was the same ritual everytime. Connor would want to sleep like a coma patient after returning for summer vacation but his friends would be there to cancel his journey to slumber land.
By the time he was ready and got down, it was past the ten minutes he'd bargained.
"Good morning, Conny. I thought you were going to sleep for the whole day." His grandma was up and busy with her cup of tea.
"I wish but then others will kill me." He took an apple on his way out.
"Will you be back for lunch?"
"Sorry, granny." He tried to look apologetic but failed, he thought.
"Here I thought you were going to spend your vacation with this old lady. Can't expect too much from youngsters these day, I'm afraid."
"I'll have dinner with you every single day, promise!"
"That you will." She chuckled . "Now off you go."
