Sorry I haven't posted much lately (of Paint Doodle or Outcast Kingdom). Things have been busy. They're going to get busier in December (I will be out of town). I will return to my regular schedule in January.
As usual, this was loosely inspired by actual events. Namely, a conversation I had with my friends.
We spoke briefly about fan fiction and how strange a concept gender swap is (though not so condescendingly), and all throughout that day my mind, entirely on its own, kept coming up with gender swapped names for Harry Potter characters. I don't know why it did. I didn't want it to. But it did, regardless.
And we certainly didn't make some big, complex collaborative project out of it.
I don't hate fan fiction, or even gender swapping. It's just not something I've ever really been in to.
Probably because one of my favorite parts of creative writing is the creation of fictional worlds and cultures. When you write fan fiction, that whole aspect is already done. I get why some people do enjoy it, but it's not really my sort of thing.
Well... I did write a bit of fan fiction once (though I never finished it).
But that is another story, for another time.
