Oh sweet, sweet Tommy boy… what is wrong with you? The answer to that is he had severe social anxiety and would wear comfortable outfits to sooth himself. He wasn’t a great public speaker, and didn’t do well during meetings with dignitaries. He would either wear outlandish or uncivilized outfits. This specific event is when he met with Andrew Merry a representative from England. Merry was so upset by this he wrote a letter to congress which said,“I, in my official costume, found myself at the hour of reception he had himself appointed, introduced to a man as president of the United States, not merely in an undress, but actually standing in slippers down to the heels, and both pantaloons, coat and under-clothes indicative of utter slovenliness and indifference to appearances, and in a state of negligence actually studied.” Let’s give Jefferson some credit, at least he will unintentionally make you laugh.
A series of comic strips that are made to teach the facts of the revolution that may have fallen to the wayside in an entertaining and funny manner. (AKA good shit)
