IMPLIED SUICIDE TRIGGER WARNING, DO NOT READ DESCRIPTION IF YOU WANT TO AVOID THIS
The flowers in this land were strange. Though their beauty was one to behold, the artist couldn’t touch them without turning black.
“What’s the point anyway! I’m merely a rag doll to the masses that no one will notice!” Oh, how the artist hated life, especially their own.
“I wish to be hung, to burn in these lovely flowers, and wither away! To be stabbed so that I can paint the world in the same color as these flowers!” And so the artist did just that, falling to the ground like a worn doll...

When the artist found that this was a dream, they sank to the ground and cried.
“Ah, how lonely it would be to die alone… I can’t leave until someone loves me.”
Why were the artist’s tears red?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The first half of the episode title (No Longer Human) is actually a title of a story by Japanese writer Osamu Dazai. His life ended when he successfully committed double suicide with a woman he loved.
(If you're familiar with the series "Bungou Stray Dogs," then yes, I was totally thinking of the character when drawing this.)
Have you even heard of fire being compared to flowers?
